Would you join me in saying a prayer for the students in at Virginia Tech who lost their lives to day at the hands of a gunman, and if you are not prayer sort of person than will you offer some warm thoughts and sorrow to the families of those who perished? 31 died today.

Sure....here goes...might as well put it on here....

Heavenly Father,

I would like to ask that you be with all of the families and victims of the shooting today, I pray that you will give them comfort in this time of crisis, and that some how you will give them some relief for the pain that they are undoubtedly feeling. I also pray that you will provide comfort for the people around the country that are hearing about this event and are feeling unsafe. I ask that you will be with the officers and men and women that will be handling this case over the next weeks and months. I also pray that you will be with the family of the shooter, that you will provide them with comfort as they have lost someone today as well. I pray that you will help provide answers to the many people that will be asking why this happened. In Jesus name,
Amen

Eri, if you read this, know this. If the Christian God exists, we have two choices:

1) Live our lives like we live now, with free will.

2) Be forced to live as robots, with no free will.

The second alternative is the more loving one. As a parent who forces their child every step of way to do every single thing they want, God could do the same. But that's hardly love. He let's us discover Him through free will, and He hopes that we'll choose the right way.

Make no mistake, the tragedy was no act of God. It was an act of man. And it grieved God, much more than any of us - as a mother and father would grieve if their sons and daughters were killed by another son.

I'm at a loss for words on that right now, there really are no words to comfort people in a situation like that. May the God of thier personal understanding watch over them, and help them through thier grief at this time, and also watch over the rest of the student body, help them to cope, and keep them from walking the campus in fear....

Thank you for your request. I've already put them on my 'prayer list' as has my whole church ... and I hope that everyone can 'take some time' to think about these 'lives lost' but ALSO INCLUDE the 'killer(s)' in your praryers ... they were 'hurt' too ... and they need our prayers just as much as their victims do.

Times today are indeed getting more violent. Just like Jesus said over 2000 years ago. The love of many are growing cold. I will join you in prayer for the families of those that have lost their lives so violently. Satan is indeed having his way today. But we have one more greater than Satan if we would just put our trust in Him.

Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

I know I'll probably get reported, but incidents like this should really be an incitement for people to THINK about what they believe. If you believe in a god, he LET this happen. If you believe in a being that is capable of anything, he could have stopped this tragedy. This just reinforces by doubt in any sort of god that would let something like this happen, and makes me sad that people will take something like this as a reason to turn to a god rather than away.

So no, I won't be praying. But I will be voting, eventually, and that can make MUCH more of a difference.

Absolutely, I pray God will hold close and comfort those who are grieving. May God take the souls of those murdered to heaven.

I pray for the soul of the shooter, but honestly it is not easy.
