NO. No, no, no. She needs to see a doctor. Immediately. Don't give her any more "suggestions." I guess you had the best intentions, but that is even worse than not eating. She has an eating disorder and she need PROFESSIONAL help. People died all day, every day from eating disorders. Someone who doesn't eat is an anorexic. Someone who throws up after eating is a Bulimic.

absolutely wrong!!!
besides by starving yourself you are gona gain weight at the end because when body is in starvation mode it doesnt let any fat reserves go - all you lose is muscle and water weight.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

Bulimia is as bad or worse that the alternative.

You wife's eating disorder can be emotionally based, psychologically based, or medically induced.

She should see a doctor immediately to see if it is causing serious medical conditions...death being one of them, but you already knew that. That's why you're so worried.

For emotional or psychological causes, your wife will need to undergo a psychological assessment, or, at the very least, counselling .

absolutely not. when you throw up, the acids of your stomach eat away at your throat and it can seriously damage your throat and your intestines. That is definately not better than starving yourself.
