It has something to do with hopelessness.

Hahaha! Ah, the drinking questions.. A drinking question is a question that either has an obvious answer, or has been asked so many times that there's really no reason to ask it again. A few common examples are: Why are atheists in this section? If humans came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? Etc.. Also, many questions involving Pascal's Wager seem to have been accepted into the drinking selection, as have any questions that mispell atheist; calling atheists "athesits," "athiests," etc. As an atheist, if you find a question that you feel is either blatantly obvious, or you've seen it a thousand times before, drink up. Though, personally, I've adopted the increasingly popular option of having straight alcohol intraveinously injected into my veins, for the truly incredible drinking questions..

I represent the non-drinking Atheists around the world. I believe that when they read something so ridiculous that it makes them need a drink.
Her question was REALLY ridiculous, sorry she got bombarded. If you are going to be religious, you have to do it for the right reasons, not just for a guaranteed place in heaven. It's proof that MOST christians are not "true" christians because they have no clue what is expected of them. In answer to her question I think I am safe without flaunting my beliefs (or lack of) in peoples faces because I am a good person.

It's a game they play...whenever someone asks a question or makes a comment that is based on Pascal's Wager, they all have a drink. I guess it was a slow day, so one of their own had to post a question for them. I mean, we can't have thirsty atheists hanging around the board, now can we??
I find it useful, myself. You meet an atheist troll, you just holler "Pascal's Wager" at it, and it obediently trots back into it's shack to pour a drink. Works every time.
After awhile, maybe they'll get too drunk to remember how much they hate....

I'm assuming they have a drinking game going where they "take a drink" everytime someone asks something along the lines of what that girl asked. I don't know though.

Bettierage* The way you said it makes it sound like her period.
She was purposefully doing it, because someone wanted a drink.
I'm not an atheist, but I play too. It makes the stupid spewed out a lot less painful.

What else are you going to do when people can't bother to search for questions and just post the same stupid questions over and over?

Not all of us. I am 55 years old and have never ever drank alcoholic beverages. Its against my particular lack of religion.
