no, star, I read your ANSWER... that's why I didn't answer it. I have yet to hear anything intelligent come from your keyboard.

(Disclaimer: the above is an assertion of one individual JW and is not a generalization about JWs as a whole)

no it means dont have anything at all that would hinder you from following the Lord. for exampl if you were married and your spouse was a unbeliever you dont fall into their world and stop your relation with God at most you keep on trucking and witness to them and if worse comes to worse you just pray for their chance of salvation.

Jesus several times exhorts each individual Christian to accept the persecutions that come with submission to Christ.

(Matthew 10:38) And whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me.

(Matthew 16:24) Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and continually follow me.

(Mark 8:34) He now called the crowd to him with his disciples and said to them: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and follow me continually.

(Luke 9:23) Then he went on to say to all: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake day after day and follow me continually.

(Luke 14:27) Whoever is not carrying his torture stake and coming after me cannot be my disciple.

There seems little reason to belittle Jehovah's Witnesses regarding this teaching, since they readily recognize the meaning of these verses, and if fact the religion has established a remarkable record of resisting persecution while refusing to compromise.

I think it is "take up your cross and follow Me"

To me it means to live our lives as He taught us, to bear our burdens and the burdens of those who cannot.
