When you say 'all the time', do you mean 24/7? And when you say, 'need to eat chocolate', do you mean to say the chocolate actually helps to calm the shakes?

Chocolate can contain a fair amount of caffeine, which is an obvious contributor to shaking. You might want to review your diet with a certified dietician. It sounds like you have a high amount of sugar in your blood. Even if you are not eating candy all the time, it could be coming from other things like soda and juice. And even if you are not drinking soda and juice, it could be coming from foods that break down too fast (starchy junk food)...try looking into complex carbohydrates.

If it turns out it is not related to food (but I suspect it is), there is another thing called an 'essential tremor', which for most people, is not a serious medical condition. I have this and notice it when I am holding a heavy cup to drink.

Parkinson's Disease (Parkinsonian Tremor) is more serious, but your doctors should be able to detect this during your annual exams.

See the link, but be sure to contact your doctor to describe your symptoms.

You could be low on iron, folate, and magnesium and supplements would be a good thing to try.
You could be hypoglycemic or diabetic sense you are reaching for sweets.
You could have the early stages of Parkinson's, but I doubt it.
You could have an neuroligical problem.
You could have anxiety problems.
It could be your overall diet and you may need to see a dietician.

There are many things it could be. I suggest going to the doctor. Before going to the doctor take a good look at yourself and your overall health in general because finding other symptoms in yourself could help the doctor rule out what it is more efficiently.

My hands shook a lot when I wasn't getting quite enough to eat. You'll want to make sure you're getting regular meals and enough liquid. And since food and chocolate give you relief, you may want to be tested for diabetes, and hypoglycemia.

Good luck!
