Well, global warming is a natural phenomenon and will take place and with it ice caps will melt and submerge a lot of land especially low land like Bangladesh will face the biggest crises.
How much will be the rise in sea level is a question that we can not answer yet but looking to fast melting glaciers and ice at Arctic region it is prity fast and may be in 5 decades sea level will rise by around 2 feet or more and remember two feet is minimum expected.
So be ready to purchase land at Arctic region we will have to go back to the land of the VEDAS.

dont limit your self to drowning lots of other ways to go
but there are so many other possibilities
the rising seas are very slow ,there are much faster disasters ahead
here is my collection of ends of the humanity
many predictions are for the years between 2012 and 2020
Nostradamus,the mayas ,Egyptians Jesus ,
and Terrance Mckennas time wave who put the magnetic output of the world into a computor projection that stopped at zero in 2012,this means the globe has stopped and it starts turning
the other way ,the resulting change of currents will turn the planet into a giant washing machine cleaning the surface
then there are the meteors storms (armageddon) ,the gulf of Mexico is the result of one that would have made life exstinct for a while ,this would result in an other ice age because globe gets covered in dust for a few years, blocking out the sun.
then there are more posible natural disasters
Volcanos are coming to life everywhere
the weather has giant storms like hurricanes ,tornados ,tidal waves ,earth quackes
a shift of the earth crust ,would change the position of the poles
under Anrarctica were found fosilized tropical plants indication the pole must have been in a different place then (the mainland atlantis is thought to be under it )
Apart from that , the biggest threat to any species of exstinction is ,when there are too little ,and when there are too many ,so overpopulation is also a threat
and the USA appears to be gunning for a global nuclear conflict .it is most likely that this will get us first ,looking at present politics
the planet will probably survive unless humanities bombs result it to be knocked out of its orbit
so many ends to choose from
if it wasnt so serious it would be rediculous
meanwhile enjoy life .and make the most of it at least we are all in the same boat

John S, what evidence have you that Mars is warming or its caps are melting. I have avidly been reading up on both subjects, water on Mars and global warming, and I have never come across that. Are you just pulling stuff out your ear or did your friend Jimmy swear it was true. Same goes for you Bats Fanfilm, most reports are saying 20-40 FEET, so where did you hear that. Even the skeptics report a rise of 2-4 feet so where do you come out with a half of a foot in a century. That number is closer to what it will rise from just erosion. I very stongly believe we will be seeing a major change in all of our lifetimes, and we will be lucky if our children have a full lifetime. Changes are apparent all around us, but too subtle to notice. But if you step back and look then they are more obvious. More rain, less snow, longer dry seasons, flowers blooming early, bugs breeding late. Signs are everywhere, our world is based on a very delicate balance, and it is being screwed with. We believe, as a race, we can pick up the world and move it, but when someone says you might hurt her, then we laugh and say we are just people and it is the Earth, how can we do anything to her. Yet we have cut deep wounds in her, scarred her, shifted her rivers flows, and moved whole islands, but we can't do anything to her. Yes the sun naturally warms and cools our world, yes greenhouse gases build up naturally and disperse, yes oceans rise and fall, winters get colder and warmer, and summers get warmer and colder. But when we continue on as if nothing we do can affect the planet then we are just being ignorant.

I've heard that the worst that will happen due to global warming is a 20 cm. rise in the sea level over the next hundred years. The sea will rise a mere 1/5 of a cm. every year. We have NOTHING to worry about.

Global warming is caused by the sun (99%). The earth has been warming since the end of the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago. The earth is still warming. The only way to stop global warming is to extinguish the sun. But, that might cause unwanted global cooling.
Mars is experiencing global warming. The polar ice caps are melting. This has nothing to do with greenhouse gasses. The sun is producing more solar energy.
To answer your question, it might come true, but there isn't much man can do about it.

Global warming is due to release of water vapour, carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere. Scientist think that the main cause is the Green house Effect as greenhouse release gases that are harmful to nature. To avoid this we have to plant trees in open areas, try riding cycles instead of pollution makin vehicles,etc.. Mainly the developed nations are under threat due to the global warming like North America. hey there is one more fact that due to global warming the health of people would become healthy living the country near the equator.

Large areas will not submerge. But many low lying coastal lands will be flooded. This will cause rich countries huge sums of money. In many poor countries that is vital agricultural land, and many people will die of starvation.
It won't be like a Hollywood style disaster movie, it will happen slowly. But it will nevertheless be a terrible disaster. More:

Yes, if we don't take the necessary steps to prevent this. Even the government disguises this fact as a myth, and most people are just negligent when it comes to doing anything besides their normal day to day activities. To prevent the disasters that could come from global warming we have to take drastic steps.
