Well have you asked every undocumented Mexican about that and have heard each and every one of them claim that? If not, then you cannot generalize everybody to think that. Second, many people have many different opinions on that. 'Rightfully' would not be an accurate form of describing the U.S. 'winning' the war. I personally don't believe the U.S. 'rightfully' won anything. It was scammed and 'won' dirty. It's like if I point a gun at somebody and tell them to sell me something or else Ill shoot. Hey I at least am 'buying' it.(sarcasm) Well it's bull. And no I'm not saying the U.S. (it wouldn't be all of the United States, maybe 2/3s) belongs to Mexico but it is bull that the real stories aren't taught. Go ahead, the U.S. should keep it, they're using the land for good but history shouldn't be forgotten. I am saying this PERSONALLY and from what I have read here and in Mexico and what I have researched and what my parents have taught me. Don't think that just because I think something, millions of other people that are the same race as me will think the same because you have a problem with putting people in a box.
As for the undocumented, they are just looking for better opportunities and have not come here to attack Americans for their land so chill out on that. Find the true situations they have to go through that have pushed them into coming to such a great country as the U.S. where they can at least find a job and feed their families.

Rightfully?Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in that time was the president of Mexico, the history said he was forced to sign the treaty Guadalupe- Hidalgo otherwise he was going to be killed. To not make it look bad, Mexico received a few amount of money for that land, and lost about half of its territory.
The United States was interested in this land for two reasons, if I am not wrong I remember that they heard news that "gold" was found over there, plus, population in the North of Mexico was very little since Mexico was centralist.
When Mexicans found out about the mines, they went to Mexico City but it was already too late.
Let me clear something in this forum, not all Mexicans are illegals, there are also immigrants that are legally here, like my parents.
Also, Why do you insist that the illegals are all Mexicans? They are from everywhere, mostly from South America.

I personally have never heard that. However I am not saying it would not happen. I know they feel they have a right to be here and in our area many of them are only here temporary and most want to return to Mexico one day. Temporary may seem like a short time but for them that may mean years. The problem is they don't always make it back unless they are deported. I believe they do have a right to be here as our Country is founded on immigrants. However it would be in the best intrest of America, if they did so legally. I suppose the "winning" it could be debated. As it originally belonged to Native American's and the practice they used to "win" it is highly unethical in my opinion. I can't go back and undo history. however I can live by the laws we have now. Move on and embrace American Culture as it changes.

Zap> ok good point but then I guess you are saying there is not one country that has a valid claim on their land. wars rearranged map borders all the time and the Aztecs and other tribes fought and conquered land..Hispanics came and conquered them just as people have done since dawn of time. Also one additional fact..violence is the ultimate form of authority..if you fight and take something and no one can take it back from you then yes it belongs to you..when someone can take it away from you then it no longer belongs to you.
Namaste> You want equality? Then how about we treat the illegals as MEXICO does? THAT is equality. I think you would be quite shocked if we did that and pray for the days of "discrimination". I don't hate Mexicans any more than they hate me but that doesn't mean they can break my laws and call it discrimination when they get caught for it

You're probably thinking of the Aztlan movement, which claims adherents among legal immigrants, Mexican-Americans and Mexicans who have never emmigrated to the US. Most illegals from Mexico face considerable race/class prejudice and limitted opportunities in thier homeland, and probably do not subscribe to the Aztlan ideal in large numbers.
So, it's probably just a vocal intellectual minority who push the idea. As is always the case - somebody's always shouting slogans and pushing ideaologies, and it's pretty near random chance which ones get picked up and become conspicuous.

They understand that they are breaking the regulation, and that they do no longer care. I honestly have a answer. it incredibly is a hassle-free actuality that Mexico is the richest united states in Latin u.s.. yet all the wealth is interior the hands of a few human beings. The Mexican government refuses to do something approximately it by way of fact it incredibly is a lot much less demanding to enable the U.S. cope with the priority. they have brazenly admitted this. So enable's merely take over Mexico, and make it our 51st state. That way, we can impose our minimum salary rules and different legislations on them, and point the taking part in field for the Mexican human beings, so as that they do no longer sense that they might desire to leave their united states to help their households. It additionally makes our southern border lots smaller, and lots much less demanding to attend to.

I am really disturbed about what you are writing and what you are portraying to ignorant people such as yourself who read this. I come from a Mexican back round, although I am not illegal, and I know from many radio shows, television shows, and other forms of media that it is very important for immigrants that it is understood that the immigrants who come to America looking for opportunity, the same one that probably your ancestors came looking for, are not looking to take over the US. Everyday in Spanish channels I see advertisements for English courses. I wish you would be more informed and not post questions that are incorrect and make you look like you only have half a brain.

They might say that Texas, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah all belonged to Mexico at one time, and use it as a dumb excuse to cross de border illegally but nooooooo, I just cannot believe you actually heard something like that.

Mexicans don't really have the desire to become American, the only reason they want to become citizens of this country, is because they won't be deported and will not be harrassed by INS. Who really wants to be an American? I'm an American, and I'm not even proud of being one. Ok, bye!
