there must be somthing you can dowload to avoid low bridges and weight limits

Just do a straight connect from your tomtom to your PC and provided its connected to the internet it should try and download you tomtom home to interface it with your computer,Once youve done that you need to check the website to see if there is such and update for your tomtom,Its then setup from points of interest on your unit try www.tomtom.com

I don't think TomTom have this available. You can of course create your own POI (points of interest) listings from your own knowledge and set the TomTom to notify when near POI. You could try http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/ who might have the list you want. They are claimed to be mote comprehensive.

Plan your route well in advance and review it before leaving. By walking through the route you should be able to see any potential hazards.
