I don't think they are trying hard enough. If they were they would have purged the terrorists from their numbers by now.

Why does America keep trying to convince the rest of the world "we" are in Iraq to help the people? Islam is a religion of peace. Just because a few "bad seeds" commit unexplainable acts in the name of Islam doesn't mean they represent Islam. They have taken the religion out of its true context. Blacks were enslaved, raped, murdered, and terrorized by southern Christians, but all Christians aren't labeled racist or terrorist. Those who committed those acts don't represent the whole. We let the media and society dictate what we believe. Open your eyes and learn to think for yourself. Religion has been the cause of many wars, but we never target anyone the way we do Muslims. All Muslims are not terrorist. Ignorance is the reason the world cannot cope with many of its problems. Be a leader and find out why Muslims feel the need to justify their religion. Stop catching snippets of television shows, or cable news stories and think outside the box. Everyday we all try to convince somebody of something. Why is this such a big deal.

Islam means submitting to Allaah, worshipping Him alone and obeying Him, and shunning shirk (polytheism, associating others with Allaah) and those who believe in that. This is the religion which Allaah approves for His slaves. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Truly, the religion with Allaah is Islam”

[Aal- ‘Imraan 3:19]

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]

The person who enters this religion is called a Muslim (one who submits), because he has submitted (aslama) to all the rulings that have come from Allaah and from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And who turns away from the religion of Ibraaheem (Abraham) (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!’ He said, ‘I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists).’” [al-Baqarah 2:130-131]

“Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allaah (i.e. follows Allaah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism) and he is a Muhsin ( a doer of good who does good deeds solely for the sake of Allaah) then his reward is with his Lord (Allaah), on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”

[al-Baqarah 2:112].

I'm not trying hard to convince anyone of anything. You are free to think what YOU like of Islam but don't tell me as a Muslim what it is and is not.
When someone says my faith is a faith of terrorism i have the right to air my view do i not?
But I certainly don't try and convince anyone of anything. I know what Islam is and i don't need people who have no clue about the faith telling me its this and that when all they have to back it up are stereotypes and propaganda.


I feel the need to explain nothing to you. Cant you read for yourself? You need someone else to expain things for you? The Quran stands alone take it or leave it, no one is asking you to follow it.

Because Islam is no more monolithic than Christianity (or Buddhism ) is.

The vast majority are peaceful, but they don't speak for all. Extremists also claim to be Islamic.
Therein lies the tension, both within Islam, and how it is perceived in the non-Islamic world.

But then how would all Christians like to be judged by the behaviour of some minority Christian movements?
(The Westboro Baptist Church, for example?)

Well muslims don't come out to shout that islam is a religion of peace..........But when people here would shout again and again that islam is violent and so and so .........they would definitely respond ! I wonder what most of the R&S participants really want?
When they post lies and crap about Islam we are supposed to be silent.
When they say violent, savages, terrorits, and permimtive, we are supposed to agree.
If your faith was attacked by all means of attack, wouldn’t you defend it..
We’re saying our words for whom s/he would like to hear, and if you don’t want to you are not forced to believe.
Have you ran out of everything in your life to judge other people’s actions?.. Judge yourself before judging the others.
