Most likely you are low on freon. You will also have a leak somewhere in the system. the leak needs to be repaired first. You can shoot a can of freon into the system but it will still leak out and you will have to do it again.

The best thing to do is to have the system checked and repaired, then add the freon with a leak detector in it. That way it will be good for another long time.

What you need to do, and is very simple, is go to a local auto parts store. They sell cans of R-134a (which is the refrigerant needed). Buy a can that has a removable gauge the tests the pressure in the A/C system.

Use the gauge on the Low side A/C line. On a Ford i believe the valve will be covered by a blue or black cap. The end of the gauge will only fit on one of the fitting. On the back of the can there will be exact directions on how to measure the pressure. You want the pressure to be in the blue. If it is low, which it probably is, fill the system with the refrigerant from the can until the gauge show a reading in the blue.

I fit is very warm air blowing it will probably need a good amount. If it is cool but not cold, it probably just needs to be topped off. Good Luck

A large can with a removable gauge will be about $20.

I would say low on freon, It's a possibility that you have a small hole in your lines somewhere which can get expensive to fix. In that case, i would roll the windows down

You probably need to add freon but i would take it to a a/c shop just in case you have a leak

Freon charge most likely.
100-150 bucks.
Hopefully it's not shot or that can cost quite a bit.

The system may have a leak or just need recharging, have them check for leaks before you get it recharged

Most likely it's the freon, but your compressor might have gone bad... which is expensive to fix.

COULD BE SEVERAL REASONS
1.FREON IS NO LONGER CATALYZING
2.YOU HAVE A LEAK SOMEWHERE IN THE VEHICLES
CLIMATE COOLING SYSTEM WHERE THE CATALYST
FREON HAS LEAKED OUT.
3.PHYSICAL SYSTEM FAILURE
ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT
VACUUM CIRCUIT
OR MECHANICAL FAILURE
