find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

I'm currently losing weight... 27 pounds so far since January and I don't 'diet'. Diets are temporary and you end up gaining the weight back when you go back to your regular eating habits. If you want to keep the weight off for good, you have to change your eating habits forever. I stopped eating chocolate, soft drinks and fried foods. For breakfast I have a bowl of oatmeal, then three hours later have a healthy snack like a granola bar. Lunch is usually a salad with a little bit of cheese and some fat free croutons. Dinner is something healthy. I exercise everyday for 30 minutes and I drink a lot of water. I allow myself to have one thing bad a week just so I don't miss out on everything. For midday and evening snacks I have fat free jello (10 calories), fat free pudding (60 calories) and fruit. I don't go for that no carb thing. It's not healthy for you. I read labels on everything I eat and try not to eat any snacks that are higher than 5% saturated fat. So you can definitely do it yourself and save a ton of money by eating wisely, exercising and drinking that water. Good luck!

Green tea is great, and you can buy it caffeine free! Adding lemon juice should help the taste of it and is fab for your metabolism. I would suggest switch to whole wheat. (bread, pasta, etc.) and drink lots of water and nothing but water (except the green tea if you want.) The miles are great and you can continue to do them, but I would suggest some amount of a lighter work out (cardio) everyday. Even if it's two 15 minutes brisk walks a day. That would be good. Whatever you can find the time for. Eat lots of fruits and veggies but never forget to also eat your carbs and protien. (important!) Leans protiens rock! (google it) Eggs, fish, even peanutbutter is pretty good. Switch to ground turkey for tacos and such. It taste great and is so much better for you! It's all my family uses anymore. Get sleep! Very important. Do your work out in the AM in get in bed before 12am. Good luck! :)

Restrictive diets are a big hassel! And no one wants to deal with cutting things out fo their meal!
I can email you some food list, meal examples and food tracking sheets if you want me to.

I work with alot of people giving them health and fitness tips and am a Chef, so I hate when people tell me they cant eat something anymore!
Eating the right foods at the right time and the right portion is what you want to go for!

Hey there,

Whole grains, green veggies and veggies of all colors, lean meats, nuts, tons of water, green tea... :O).

Some people eat raw.

Anyway, here is a great free website... I've been signed up there since the beginning of last fall.

Counting calories is the best way to do it. Take your ideal weight and multiply by 10... that's the amount of calories you should try to intake a day.
