There's a huge variety of possibilities. Really, you should talk to a psychiatrist who is trained to diagnose conditions of both the mind and the body.

Stress can cause minor memory problems. Depression, also. But it could be a dissociative disorder such as multiple personality disorder resulting from childhood trauma. It could be a chemical imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, drug side-effects, etc. There are too many possibilities for a lay-person to guess.

If the problem is really affecting your life, describe your symptoms to your doctor. But maybe you should write them down as you notice them...you might not remember them all when you're there!

some memory problems are hereditary, age induced, drug induced or stress induced. The standard memory problems including dementia, and Alzheimer's. It's hard to say without knowing more information.

Dementia, stroke and traumatic brain injury, among others. Get to a neurologist to figure out why the memory problems are happening.
