It is a question I pondered for a long time. I don't understand why people can't accept the fact that others wish to worship and believe in a different way. From my perspective all paths lead to God, and religions are just the vehicles we choose to get there.
Just as a Honda Civic will take you across the country much more cheaply than a Humvee will, we must admit that people choose a different vehicles for different reasons even though people do the same job and get to the same place.
Religions are like that too we choose the one that we use because it suits our sense of style, how we want to travel, but the destination is ultimately the same.
If we could only understand that it except that all of this religious infighting would stop and we can accept one another with a true expression of God that we are.

Good morning...I would think because they don't understand it out of fear. Usually when one criticizes another or others religion they intend to be unaware of the knowledge that pertains to the issue. People are afraid in finding out the truth in some cases. It's what they don't know that scares them and because it's so different from their own that they "hate" the ones that might be different than they are. Such as in King Arthur's time. Back then, a lot of them believed in the magical sense..such as Merlin the sorcerer. Christianity took over due to the fact that many were afraid of magic and that it was part of the devil, so they turned to Christianity. Then the aspect of the Romans to where they believed in the Catholic ideals. Hitler "hated" the Jews during his reign and it was probably a prejudice due to his way of "thinking" on how the Jews portrayed themselves. They were different in his views so since he didn't want to understand their way of life or their religion he decides to murder them instead out of fear. I really don't feel that it's primarily the "religion" here that is causing the war but the greediness of man in general and the politics behind it. Now I, personally and I'm an American, have nothing against other people for their religion. To each his own, I always say. What I am against, is the reasoning behind the war and what it has done to our relationship between other countries. We are all God's children and we need to all live in Peace.

I have started answering this question so many different ways, but can only come up with one solid answer and that is "Who knows". Religion has been and continues to be an excuse for people to murder and hurt others on the planet. They hurt others and murder others and shun others all in the name of something that nobody on this planet has ever seen or experienced and that is their respective God(s). And yes religious people, I did state that nobody on this planet has experienced or met or talked to God, etc, and if you have, that is a mental disorder. There is no difference between a religious person having God talk to them in his head or someone with schizophrenia, both are mental disorders. Amazingly in the Bible when Abraham is told to kill his son, does that not mirror so many people who have killed their children because the voice in their head told them to?
Anyway, the answer is that we as humans need to realize that firstly we are just human, no matter what our beliefs are and if we keep our beliefs to ourselves and inside our homes, then the world is a better place. Religious followers have the tendency to want to force their morals on others, regardless of the other people's beliefs or opinions, yet religious followers hate when it is done back to them. Until we can learn to respect others and realize that we are only humans and all the same, then the world will not evolve like it should. Unfortunately religion has been a major stumbling block in the way of that since the beginning of time, with people wanting to prove their religion is better than another, usually through force.

Study your history. It was violence by Arabs towards Jews after the fall of Ottoman Empire that most directly contributed to the formation of the state of Israel. If Jews had been allowed to remain in their homes, there would not have been the need for a Jewish homeland in the mideast.
Once that homeland was formed, the Jews were willing to live peaceably -- including the Arabs who remained in the territory as full citizens of the state of Israel.
But the Arab League of Nations refused to go along with that.
The rest is tragedy.
But don't put all the blame on Israel. The Arab and Muslim nations have proven repeatedly that they will do ANYTHING to get rid of Israel once and for all. Including the sacrifice of generations of Palestinian Arabs.
Only one condition needs to be met. Accept and recognize the state of Israel. Jews want nothing more than to be able to live in peace without the threat of pogrom. Will you ever let us?

professional. All Christians do no longer agree on theology. we've different ideas about what the scriptures recommend. at the same time as a human being criticizes someone for going door to door to witness, they don't look to be being damaging about the persons going door to door, yet extremely what they're saying at the same time as someone ideas the door. Jehovah Witnesses are in all likelihood the important common door to door evangelists, yet also there are Mormons in contact. From a Christians perspective, neither the Jehovah Witness or Mormons, should be considered Christians. both religions haven't got self concept that the Holy Bible is sufficient as a note of God, and some haven't got self concept that Jesus replace into the Son of God. some human beings criticize, in basic terms to get a reaction, yet some, comprehend what they're speaking about. until eventually you comprehend what each and each and each and each faith or denomination believes, it really is going to be complicated to comprehend why they criticize. God Bless

Smart people do not 'simply accept' anything that religion has to say. Religion follows no logic or reason, therefore it is dangerous. Why are people killing other people? Religious fanaticism.

because we see our views and dont understand how anyone else could see it any different or how they could have different values than us we dont know much about eachothers culture so we make asumptions based on past transgressions or the actions of the few extremists and refuse to see the good in eachother
