My younger brother said something really hurtful and offensive to me in front of my whole family. Should I confront my brother in front of the family or how should I go about it?

Sometimes our family members do things unintentionally that hurt us and sometimes they do intend to hurt us. First and foremost remember that he is still your brother. Pull him aside privately and talk to him openly about how he hurt your feelings. It could be that he did not know he was hurting them. It is wrong for you to confront him in front of the family remember how you felt when he did what he did to you in front of the family.

Be the bigger person and don't stoop to his level, confront him privately! But if he does it in public again, then I'd confront him right then and there...but be calm and don't be nasty...just maturely state your claim, and end by saying, I've let you use me as a punching bag in front of the rest of the family one too many times and I find it disrespectful and rude and I wish you would have some respect for everyone else and keep your opinions (because that's all they are) to yourself!

Talk to him privately (you don't want to be as bad as him), and tell him how much it hurt that he said those things in front of the whole family.

I would confront your brother alone first and ask him why he would say such an offensive thing to you! Or maybe it is better if you confront him with your family there. That's just not acceptable!

let your brother know that you're hurt by saying the words, "i feel hurt".

see what he says.

you could continue by asking him not to discuss your personal life with others, and you will respect his life as well.

i don't know what else to say?

Tell him to knock it off, you know things about him and the one thing he doesn't want you to do is go around telling it. Keep this up and you will.
