Has anyone seen the documentary? Is it just me or is it scary how there is a group of Evangelicals raising their children to think in a very narrow-minded way...truly they don't even think for themselves at all. All I know is Christianity used to be about living your life correctly not about 10 year old girls going up to people at a bowling alley telling them to convert because God is talking to her. Creepy. Any thoughts?

Creepy with a capital C! Creepy and just plain wrong. It reeks of brainwashing. Get them as young as possible and immerse them in the dogma and doctrine. The Nazis did it with great results... and so are the Fundies and Gellies.

I think that it is a film that every Christian should definitely see, because there really is an alarming mindset within the faith community that really is like this...and Christians who behave in this way are certainly not following the faith according to the truth of Christ's example. Not to mention these sorts of folks are why Christianity is looked at so negatively by the general public (I don't blame them!).
The documentary made me feel really angry and sick inside, because they really are so misguided with regards to what Christianity is all about (and what's funny is that those people would probably say the same of me...call me a heathen or something)

I'm an Evangelical Christian and I saw the documentary. It scared me terribly. I agree with your use of the word "creepy." It was an embarrassment. But remember, the film was shot and edited by folks who set out to cause embarrassment to Christians. So please consider the source.

Actually, I'd put these Christians into the Charismatic camp, rather than the main-stream Evangelical camp. But maybe I'm being defensive.

The whole thing depends on motive, what's in there heart of both the teachers and the student at this camp. The lord said the only we can tell if these people are of him (Christ) is by the fruits they produce, look up what fruits are in the bible. These fruits are not only applied to Christians toward other Christians but also toward to non-belivers.

God Bless

I saw it and found it totally frightening. I also felt like those people were way off in left field. It was almost like they wanted to raise little christian suicide bombers how they kept asking the kids if they would die for God. What about the kid with the mullet who got saved at like 5 because he needed more out of life.

Don't believe everything you see. I can take a camera, film the three days or so the local Wiccan festival is going on, and splice the film together to make them look like the worst people in the world. Editing does wonders when you want to show something specific. I highly doubt it was as bad as that stupid documentary made it out to be, but since it's more fashionable to hate religions these days, no one cares about learning the truth and seeing beyond what media and the camera shows them.

Christianity actually used to be about killing heretics. They are just returning to its true nature.

The Jesus Camp based its model on terrorist training camps. It's effective brainwashing. Children cannot combat irrational superstition. This is why most of us take on our parents' religion, but you don't call it brainwashing.

God is talking to me too.......we call them voices in our heads. We are gods unto ourselves....so god is talking to us.

If that happened to me, i think I'd look at my friend with one of those expressions then turn to the girl and say "No, those are the voices in your head and you should see a doctor". Either that or call 911 and tell them they are missing a patient.
