I think its fine. You obviously celebrate your faith in your own way and you don't HAVE to go to a church to be religious. You feel that is has importance and meaning to you and that's what really matters.

You asked a two part question. The first, is it okay to get a religoius tattoo if you aren't overly religious - it's ok to get anything you want as a tattoo if it is something you really want and means something then go for it.
Your second question was in regards to whether or not people will think you are overly religious if you have a religious tattoo. Yes, that is possible. If that is something that would really bother you, then you might want to keep that in mind. Otherwise, don't worry about what anyone thinks. You'll get judged regarding your tattoo no matter what you get - that's just kind of the way it is unfortunately. But in the end, who really cares what strangers think?

i wouldn't worry about what other people will think. as long as you know what it means to you that's all that really matters. when i see someone with a religious symbol i don't think they are any different than anybody else with a tattoo. it just shows that they care about whatever is represented, not in an weird overbearing way, just that it meant enough to get it tattooed on them. i'm sure i'll end up with a tattoo of something representative of my faith one day... i just haven't come across the perfect idea yet.

A tattoo is for you to feel good about. If you can picture yourself with a religious tattoo for the rest of your life then go for it. If you are having even the slightest reservation, then I would choose something else to tattoo on your body. Since it is a permanent art form, you want to be sure that you will enjoy it for the rest of your life.

tattoos can tell the story of ur life. i think it's a great idea. it says where u come from and what u believe in, even if u don't consistently go to church. with any tattoo though, make sure it's something u really want and that u'll always be happy with.

Get what ever you want for you if you feel like god is part of your life and thats your way of expressing it I do not see why it would not be ok.
So you know I do not go to church ethier and have a cross tattooed on my self.

I've always liked the "Crown of Thorns" Nothing says sexy like a pagan chick walking down the street with thorns tattoo'ed all over her head.

Don't get religious tattoos. Their lame, and unoriginal since so many people have crap like that. Come up with something on your own, so it will be a tattoo unlike anyone elses.
