In German your sentence, correctly either "Ich habe keine Idee."(present tense), or "Ich hatte keine Idee," (past tense) means I don't/didn't have an inspiration. It can only be used meaningfully in the context of a work of art or any other pursuit involving creativity.

The English " I don't have an idea" translates into German as "Ich hatte keine Ahnung."

German is my native language and I translate for a living, that's how I know for sure.

It has a spelling mistake cause it should be one of these 3:

Er/Sie hat keine Idee= He/ she has no idea.

Ich habe keine Idee= I dont have any idea.

Ich hatte keine Idee= I had no idea.

Ich habe keine Idee oder Ich hatte keine Idee is the right spelling and grammar of your sentence. And it means I have no idea or I had no idea......
