That you don't see Christians getting upset over portrayls of their religion. (not exact wording).

But word of the confectionary Christ infuriated Catholics, including Egan, who described it as "a sickening display." Bill Donohue, head of the watchdog Catholic League, said it was "one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever."

The hotel and the gallery were overrun Thursday with angry phone calls and e-mails. Semler said the calls included death threats over the work of artist Cosimo Cavallaro, who was described as disappointed by the decision to cancel the display.

What is this? Death threats??? Reminds me of the Muslims.

Yep, it's ok to call us Muslims (btw, not all Muslims protested this) who didn't like the cartoon crazy.

Disclaimer:
I'm aware that many Christians didn't mind this and didn't support in the closing of the show.

Why generalize people? Why????

If you don't understand what I'm trying to say then this is it.

Why do people generalize other people?

I'd like to point out that not EVERY Christian protested the display. Why do you generalize people?

I read about this a couple of weeks ago, and I really found the whole thing very silly. From what I could tell, they were less offended by the fact that the statue was made of chocolate than they were by the fact that Jesus was depicted naked (ie. the way he was actually crucified, rather than the bowdlerized version depicted on most crucifixes).

For the record, my mother is a devout Catholic, and she loves the song "Chocolate Jesus" by Tom Waits.

As the bunny that made these comments, I will agree that the overreaction to the chocolate Jesus issue was, well, a gross overreaction.

But angry calls and e-mails, and even anonymous death threats, are a far cry from riots in the streets. Neither is acceptable, but neither are they comparable.

You're all crazy. If you believe there is an invisible man living in the clouds, you're crazy. If you get offended and become violent because someone comments on other people in history (prophets, messiahs, etc.) who believed in the same invisible man, then you're dangerous and should be locked up to keep everyone else safe.

I saw an article in the paper about that. The headline read: My Sweet Lord.

Not bad, eh?

Ok, seriously - death threats are okay from a Christian persceptive when youre fighting for God and Christ!! That why they find it okay to bomb abortion clinics and snipe doctors...

People were upset about his willy being shown...not that it was a chocolate jesus. And I forgot to mention that yeah, it's a bunch of silliness, it's just art...nothing to fight over.

Added: Yep, you got it. They thought it was disrespectful. Shows you how sexually hindered people of christianity are.

Art is art. The medium was chocolate. I guess my conclusion is that was a very sweet art piece.

When Christians take it to this level, then we can compare the two recations:

***Warning****Graphic Images of children beheaded***

So far, I have not seen the Christians demonstrate such blatent violence and thirst for violence over a caricature of Jesus, the Virgin, or any martyr/saint.

Try again, please. I love shooting your tirades down. It's like shooting clay pigeons at at .50 cal range. Too easy.
