Well, from a Christian standpoint, that was the point of it all. Adam and Eve were to lose something IF they ate from the only tree in all the garden that they should not eat from. There was a cause and affect.

For Adam and Eve, and yes for the rest of us, there is now death where there wasn't death before. But before that, there was eternal life that was a part of our being. That changed with the eating of whatever kind of fruit that was on that tree.

If you want to consider it further, EVERYONE gets eternal life. It's just that there are two places where people will exist in it. Some will spend it in heaven, and a vast majority will exist in a place where God's Spirit does not dwell.

Why are you automatically assuming that it is a false story?

No, they don't all believe in the same thing. They don't all believe that we don't die except for one. Perhaps the four or five religions you have any information on adhere to your narrow view of religion, but many of the other thousands of religions out there have very different beliefs.

so, you are saying that there is only one group of woeshippers that dont believe satan's lie, that your soul lives on after bodily death in some other place...
satan told Eve she wouldn't die
YHWH told her she would die

now all religions believe the soul never dies... except one you say?

Adam and Eve ate of the tree and did not die.At least that's what they thought. What happened was they died right then spiritually, and then hundreds of years down the road, physically. In order to revive spiritually,God taught them that their sin must be covered.(By sacrifice, the ultimate in the form of Jesus)By accepting that they are spiritually Born Again and when we die we live. Now to Christ. Then a resurrected body that will not die.
Satan did lie,but the Bible does not.

Most of the major religions have a lot of common themes, but yeah, this is a particularly common one.
And it makes sense, really...what do people worry about more than their own mortality? Whether the aim is to soothe people into not worrying about their eventual death or to scare them into accepting certain dogma in order to avoid death and live forever, the idea is still there. People fear death, it's a primal fear that goes way back into our history, of course religions will address it (or capitalize on it, depending on your viewpoint)

I'm confsed on your belief. You have contradicted yourself. Please clarify. You say satan deceived eve with you will not die. So that means that you believe that satan was lying.
Are you saying that christian is the one that says you die?
I'm not sure where you are going with this?
I will answer ya- if I know really what you are asking.

Satan the Father of lies has deceived them and made them think there is no life after death, or you are reincarnated.

If you do not live in obedience of God's Laws and do not accept Jesus Christ as your savior, your soul will die. That is the Word of God.
