No way, 11 is not a little girl. When you're 11, you're either in middle school or about to enter middle school. I remember being 11. I was pres of student council, a musician, a student writer, and on sports teams. A little girl couldn't handle that much responsibility. I had also just started my period! Ha ha, too much information, I know.
Anyway, the fact that you are even asking this question shows that you probably feel weird when people call you a little girl. This could mean that you haved reached that point when you should not be called 'little' anymore, and should simply be called a 'young' girl or pre-teen.
Probably sounds crazy to some parents, but kids grow up much more advanced with every passing year. It doesn't mean that they should do whatever they want or be over-exposed, but don't stunt their development based on numerical age.

Yes, 11 is a little girl. Technically it is called the tween years - ages 10-12. You aren't considered a big girl until about 14 or 15. At age 16 a girl becomes a young woman.
Hope this helps.

I don't think that 11 is really a little girl, but not quite a young adult. I think that between the ages of 10 and 13 is kind of
a spot that little girls start to transform from a little girl into a young adult.
You are old enough to keep up with your room, to help out around the house, take on some responsibilities, and begin to make some choices. Your body may even begin to change some.
You have a better understanding of what is going on around you. You are probably feeling more grown up and you are right to feel this way.
but it is kind of like being in the middle of the line your not a grown up and you most definitely are not a little girl. So even tough your are not quite there, you are closer to being a young adult then to being a little girl in my own opinion.

well it's the truth, though I know you don't want to hear that. The reason you're still considered little is because when you're 12 you're considered a preteen and then when you're 13 you're a teenager, so the only think left to call an 11 year old is a child. Every woman you know, including your teacher was 11 years old once and called a little girl too. I bet she didn't like it back then either.

Some people will call 11 a "tween" because you are between a little girl and a teenager. An 11 year old is still a child. I think your teacher is right. You are definitely a preadolescent. Too young for dating and make up and that sort of thing.

I wouldn't consider an 11-year-old to be a "little girl," but I would still consider her to be very much a girl and not a woman. That's right around the age that girls start maturing and start becoming women, but that's a process that takes at least 7 more years, depending on the girl (in some cases it can take the rest of her life and she STILL never becomes a woman, but hey, the same thing can be said about boys who never grow up and become men).

You should ask your parents their ages. Suppose one is 32 and the other 36. You say, but mom! When you were 11, dad was FIFTEEN!! He was learning to drive and you were MY age! Isn't he too old for you???
They'll give you a long rigamarole about age being relative for adults, maturity and all that.
And what they won't say is, it applies to you too. If you act eight (whining, not helping your mom with things around the house, being extremely dependant) you're a little girl. If you're an 11yo who, say, does the dishes now and then, keeps her own room clean without being told, speaks politely, and can basicly act like a grown-up a large part of the time (NOT 24-7) then you are not a little girl.

I think 11 is like that between age. You are not a little kid but your not a teenager either. Enjoy this age it only comes around once. I always say act the way you feel. I have a daughter your age and she doesn't want to be consider as being little. So I gave her more resposibilies because she is growing up and so are you.
