and said he's gonna stop smokin, but i was a believer at one time and i learned when i was 10, a sin is a sin, whether its rape or a lie....their equal in gods eyes, but in mans their not. but a true christian will live by christs' judgments not his own. so i got my friend to start smokin again (seldom tho) and he just asks for forgiveness and feels good that he has salvation and his good ol' buddy from pre-school...

so gimme some feed back christians, what do u think of this idea. or do u think ranking sins counts when u die?

Sin is sin, n one sin in any worse then another. You are being a bad influence, and I do not care if you call me a square. You need to hear the truth, even tho I feel you will reject the truth any way. If I was your friend I would tell you to go jump in a lake and take your cancer sticks with you.

Well, of course you are a bad influence, what, did you need a smoke buddy??? Why not let your friend quit like he wanted to, its his life?
As to all that stuff about sins, I'm not Christian and don't believe in the whole concept.

Your friend will not go to hell for smoking, or drinking, or rape, or lying......he WILL go to hell for not asking Jesus into his life and developing a relationship with Him and asking Him to forgive his sins.....I would think that if you care for your ol buddie from pre school you would support his decision to quit smoking for your buddies health....that like encouraging an alcoholic to keep drinking....what kind of buddy is that?...I think you need to look at yourself and YOUR salvation and stop encouraging unhealthy behaviour in others just to make yourself feel justified in YOUR sins.....

No ranking of sins, all sins are equal... But forgiveness is always available in God's Eyes.

Great White Throne” judgement in Revelation 20:11-15 will be the time that both believers and unbelievers alike are judged. Those whose names are found in the “book of life” will be judged for their deeds in order to determine the rewards or loss of rewards that they will receive.
All sins are forgivable, but we will have to answer for them.

A sin is knowingly doing something against God. Words of asking for forgiveness are meaningless unless they are truly felt and come from the heart. It sounds like your buddy is just providing lip service, which accomplishes nothing.

Let me get this straight, your friend decides to not only become a Christian, but to stop smoking. And you get him to start smoking again? And for what? To make him uncomfortable with being a Christian? You are a bad influence and if you cared anything for your friend, you'd help him stop smoking for his health! He'd be better off without you.

Interesting. As an atheist, I think you should have gotten him to quit smoking and NOT join CHristianity, instead of the opposite. He would have been better off in the long run.

Tell your buddy that Jesus got up after being dead three days and started walking around like nothing ever happened, and then he rose into the sky and became a god.

Tell your buddy to say three hallelujahs to Jesus for every small sin, and they will be healed.

For the big sins he has to say twenty hallelujahs to Jesus.
