No it's not rude at all. You can always decline it because not everyone likes the stuff anyways. I don't know what airline you use but lately any time I've flown & it was during a mealtime they'd pull brown-bagged lunches out of a cooler & give those out....we didn't get a "fancy" meal on a tray lol. I remember once having a granola bar, a baggie of baby carrots & a poor boy-type sandwich in mine....and they handed out soda too. It wasn't bad but definitely could've been better...needed cheese & condiments for the sandwich, something to dip my carrots in & a softer granola bar...that thing was like a brick! I usually make sure to have a bag of some kind of snack I like in my carry-on that way I'll have at least SOME sort of food in case I don't like theirs. lol.

Then don't take the tray. Bring your own food on the plane so you will like what you have and will eat all of it, that way you are not wasting food.

If you don't want it tell them. It is not rude. Sometimes airline food is just plain NASTY and I always just have snack things in my bag and get something to drink from the attendants.

Hmmm, its been a long time since I've flown, but don't they usually give you an option from a menu? If so, you could state at that time that you won't be having anything to eat. But if it is a long flight, I suggest bringing your own snack.
And no, it isn't rude.

I've heard that usually when you fly coach you just get a bag of peanuts. So don't feel too guilty over a small bag of peanuts! It's okay. I'm sure your HAMSTER will eat it! Our send the peanuts to me and my hamPster will chow down.

Honestly, i think you are doing yourself a favour not eating it, you'd probably find more nutrition and and get less indigestion by bringing a tasty house brick onto the flight as a snack.

It is not rude not to eat it. You can always turn it down though as to not waste it.

No, it's not rude if you don't eat it. It won't go to waste, it will just go to someone else!!

You must fly on a different airline than I do - I'm surprised they didn't charge us for the half-can of Coke we got ;-)

Just refuse the food then. I'm pretty sure that is one of the choices they give you.
