THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt...; you shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol...You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God...
Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy...
Honour your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.

Jesus had given us the edited version already.
He made this clear when someone asked Him, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" How did Jesus respond? "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets'" (Matthew 22:35-40).

Although I am an atheist these are not the worst rules to live by. That being said the only ones I would agree with is the last 5. I follow those even as an atheist and so shoudl most people.

My favorite is you shall not murder. If anyone paid any attention to that, life would be much better in the world.
I guess my least favorite would have to be "keep the sabbath holy," just because I would like that to happen but it seems impossible these days.

I don't have a least favorite. They are all very important. Have you ever noticed that all of them are behavioral commandments except for coveting, which is an emotional commandment?
My favorite is the first one. If you can get that down, you can get the rest.

Honor the father and mother. (least favorite)
It implies kids are chattel. It gives a "reward" for doing so - because it's not enough to be respectful for its own merits. Lastly, because parents aren't told to be respectful, kind, loving...ANYthing towards their kids.
Do not murder (most favorite). You have to like "doh" instructions like that. Sort of like "remove ketsup cap before applying product".

my favorite commandment of the Lord is in revelations ch. 18. the holy spirit screams,"come out of her(roman catholicism-great whore/mother of harlots/protestantism) my people be not a partaker of her sins and plagues which everyone is willfully disobedient to and will die for it

they are all! my favorites and it is a shame that people simply will not! live by them! that is why our society is so messed up with drugs and violence!!
