...can we object?

I've been with my wife for thirteen years and love her more each day. If there is an eternal life I don't want to be apart from her and neither does she from me.

Why do we have to be split asunder 'like angels in heaven'?

More to the point, if we will not be married in heaven it means that god has divorced us.

*slaps head*

Oh no I forgot - they added the 'til death do us part' clause to fix that hole.

The Bible tells us, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30). This was Jesus’ answer in response to a question concerning a woman who had been married multiple times in her life – who would she be married to in heaven (Matthew 22:23-28)? Evidently, there will be no such thing as marriage in heaven. This does not mean that a husband and wife will not longer know each other in heaven. This also does not mean that a husband and wife could not still have a close relationship in heaven. What it does seem to indicate, though, is that a husband and wife will no longer be married in heaven. There is likely no purpose for marriage in heaven since there is no procreation or loneliness.

You're about to have many Mormons tell you to go get married in their temple. They believe in the Bible but go against Jesus' teaching on eternal marriage.

The thing is that if you both live right and make it to heaven, you can hang out together. Heaven is a happenin' place, and you'll be there with all of the people you love and enjoy, wife, family, friends, and other.

You only say that because you don't understand what heaven is going to be like. We will still have physical bodies in heaven, it will most likely resemble the ones we have now, but will not grow old. In heaven we will all be married to Christ, for we are all parts of the body of Christ. It is simply a union between all of us Christians.

What about loved ones in the afterlife? Although Matthew 22:30 indicates that earthly relationships like marriage will not be the same in heaven - we will definitely recognize those we knew on earth.

The story of Lazarus and the rich man, in Luke 16:20, shows we will still retain our identity and relationships in heaven. The rich man still remembered his siblings - and Lazarus, whom he knew on earth.

Penguine seal is right and wrong. I am LDS, I have been married for time and all eternity to my husband because of the power of the Priesthood to as Mathew 16:19 says " And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

You see, the marriages don't happen in heaven, they happen on earth, and are bound to last into heaven (assuming the couple keeps their marriage promises).

I am just sharing my experience, you, of course, have your own choices to make - I just want you to know that I don't think you're wrong in your desire.

Best wishes for you and your wife.

Because love will no longer be that way in heaven. We will all be spiritually wed to Christ, there will be no physical marriage or attractions.

Don't worry, I'm sure there's some scet of christianity that has the belief to suit your needs, just look around

Because....

Your time will be filled with worshiping God. Not trivial emotions for your wife.

I don't say this lightly... I love my wife more than my own life. But it's simply not biblical to think that my love for her is more important than my worship of God.

"Split asunder"?? We will not pro-create in heaven. There is no need-we all live forever.
