well yes you do have a point but we call it Good Friday because that was the day that Jesus died for our sins so we could be saved. What could be better than that?

It is considered Good because all barriers to sin were released on that day due to Christ's sacrifice. It does not mean that the death in itself was Good, but that Christ's act of surrender to God's will was good.
Without the Good done on the Friday there would not be an Easter Sunday.

Why is Good Friday referred to as “good”? What the Jewish authorities and Romans did to Jesus was definitely not good (see Matthew chapters 26-27). However, the results of Christ’s death are very good! Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

Yeah...funny that. And Christians don't seem to wonder about this. How on earth could it have been a good day to have somebody DIE for you in such horrible way?

Very simple answer: No. Just as the Olde English phrase "God be with ye" morphed into "Good bye" - so the Olde English "Gode's Fridaye" (God's Friday) became "Good Friday". That's just a quirk of how languages work as they evolve.

It is Good Friday because Jesus died. It's good because it was the day he fulfilled the prophesy and died to save mankind from their sins.

Because it was good for us.
We were forgiven that is why we say Good Friday.
Had he not done it we would still be in our sin, no forgiveness.
Condemned.

It was good for us.
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but it was "Good Thursday" and actually "Good Wednesday Evening" to the Jews.
