you just have to shower right before you go out so that you aren't in the house with the smell letting it settle back into your hair.

while you're around the house, keep your hair in a ponytail and you'll notice it less often.

If you have long hair, wrap it in a tight bun before you light up. This will help to keep some of the smell out of your hair.
Wearing a hooded sweatshirt while smoking can keep the smell out of your hair and off of your shirt.

Fabric softener sheets leave your laundry smelling fresh, and they'll do the same for your tresses, according to Norbert Amsellem, owner of Norbert Hair Designers in the District.
Simply rub the sheet over your head to remove the offensive odor. If you don't have one handy, a dusting of lavender baby powder will also temporarily mask the smell of smoke, says Lauren Bourland, a hair stylist at Toka Salon in downtown Washington. (Try Johnson's Lavender & Chamomile Baby Powder, about $3 to $5 at drugstores.) To camouflage powder residue, follow up with a spritz of hair spray.

The only sure way is to stay away from cigarette smoke, but that is obviously not an option in your case.

That's a hard one. I use to smoke as well. I quit a year ago last friday!! But anyways, I never smoked in my home, but I did smoke in my car. After I quit I could smell it everywhere! Just being around someone who smoked it would get in my hair and clothes, I understand your concerns, but I think the only way to control it is dump your boyfriend and don't be around other smokers! LOL

I know what you mean. I just quit smoking to and i just relized how bad it stinks. But as long as he is smoking in the house you will always smell like that unless you keep spraying perfume on your head. I would ask him to smoke outside and that will get the smoke out yor house and out your hair. Also you can help by pulling your hair up after you wash it then before you go somewhere let it down and it will still smell like shampoo.

Ask him if he wouldn't mind smoking outside. Not only will your hair not smell of smoke, but neither will your house. Before I gave up smoking I used to have a cig just outside the back door because my wife didn't smoke. I think it's fair enough really.

Unless he will agree to move his smoking outside, you're stuck with it. (Former smokers often mind the smell more than other people, because when they smoked, their sense of smell was blunted by the constant smoke. When they quit, they smell things they never noticed before, and are bothered by many odors that other people take for granted.)

Tell him to go outside to smoke--really, it may sound harsh but it's the only answer. I used to smoke and I never realised how bad they smell until I stopped. Even if you do get the smell out of your hair when he smokes again you're back to square one and it's not only your hair--clothes--it gets everywhere.

Don;t be in the same room when he smokes. My girlfriend and i always have this thing, that i go outside to smoke so as to be considerate. If you keep leeting the guy smoke in front of you, you are gonna constantly smell like cigs, and no product is gonna change that.

The best way, of course is that he stops smoking but if he cannot do it; ask him to smoke anywhere else but the room. Tell him that he has to open his window if he smokes for approximately 30 minutes.
