Hi,

I believe learning Arabic is not easy at all, considering this fact that as a Parsi (Farsi) speaking person I already knew the alphabet and could read it even with no understanding; however we use some Arabic words in our writing and daily speaking while having purely Persian alternatives for them.
Anyway, comparing Arabic with English, apart from pronunciations, it is quite challenging to learn 14 shapes of every single verb in each tense. For example, in English we say:
I go, you go, he/she/it goes, we go, you go, they go

whereas in Arabic you should say:

He go1, those two men go2, those men go3,
She go4, those two women go5, those women go6,
You man go7, you two men go8, you guys go9,
you woman go10, you two women go11, you women go12,
I go13, we go14

The numbers after 'go' indicate that the verbs are a bit different from each other (take it as a suffix to the root of the verb) however many of them might be the same but grammatically they are different. I have heard that Lebanese do not follow such a rule and speak an easier version of that. Whatever, if you know French you may understand better what I exactly mean.

We study Arabic in schools in Iran for many years. I found it challenging but none of us came to learn how to speak it neither our teachers wanted us to do so, nor the education system had planned for such a thing. We just Learned the grammar and the words mostly to distinguish and understand the Arabic words in our texts. So I cannot advise how hard would it be to speak it but I think off its grammar you can guess how much efforts it would take in comparison with English.

Marhaba! (Hello!)

Arabic is moderately difficult for most people. The difficulty typically comes from having to learn the script but some people have problems w/ some of the pronounciations. I have heard though, that Russian is nearly impossible so, I suppose if you know that then you should have little problem w/ Arabic. Farsi is similar to Arabic, with some small differences in pronounciation, etc.
It is similar in level of difficulty. It is not hard to converse w/ a native speaker really, as long as you study diligently. It is very important to listen to native speakers whilst learning Arabic.

Salam!(peace)
