Does it need to be Microsoft ?? There are a number of other ones available at no cost. Go to Shareware and choose from whats available there free of charge. I have used "iespell" for a number of years and its just great.

Word 2002 for $39. That's not bad. With genuine MS software, you would be eligible for support and upgrades.

a good place to look is online, another real good place for newer versions as well is college bookstores, they usually sell software at discount prices for students.
