My taxes are all done... except for one thing:
I live in Weirton, WV and work in Wintersville, OH. I went to the Weirton city building today to get my local tax form and was informed that they don't have to file city tax, only WV state. However according to my W2 there has been a hundred and some dollars taken out for local taxes this year. It has the municipality listed as OH WINTR- do I need to file local/city taxes in wintersville even though I am only employed there and live in a different state/town completely?
Any knowledgeable help would be greatly appreciated... obviously I'm a bit short on time.

Rules vary by state and locality - some places you file where you live, some where you work. If they took it out by mistake, you'd have to file to get a refund anyway, so sounds like you need to file in Wintersville. Check with the Wintersville city offices.

the notice you got from your city has nothing to do with federal or state taxes, you apparently were successful in your filing those two returns; your city notice would give you instructions or contact the office noted on the bill, they can help you
