When I use my wireless broadband (BT) the landline is extremely fuzzy what could be the reason for this and is there something I can do so fix the problem?

I do have filters, placed as directed when I installed my Homehub.

From experience, the problem is the Home Hub itself.
I've had 4 of the poxy things and they all caused massive interference on the phone line if broadband was connected. They are known to be problematic.
I eventually got rid of the Home Hub and went back to my good ol' ADSL modem - problem solved!

Do you have a microfilter between your phone plug and the wall socket? You must have one of these on each phone socket, not just the one where the line comes into the house from outside. Otherwise you get noise on the line, whether it's a wireless connection or not.

This is usually caused by degraded wiring. As copper ages it oxidizes and adds intrinsic impedance to the line, and since your using DSL which is impedance tuned I think you may need to first call the telephone company. they will check up to the house or flat. But you may need to replace old wiring with new cable.

you need a filter on the line. if you have one it may be broken

too much noise in the lines could cause that just call your phone company that could help.
