hey, before you read this, please do not judge, or think that he is a perv or a paedo or a weirdo or any of that jazz, because he is truly a nice guy, and wouldnt do anything to hurt anyone.
okay, im 14, and the guy i like is 18. its my friends brother, and i went and stayed at my friends house for a few nights.
we were watching tv and my friend went to bed and so it was just me and tom (the 18 year old) there, and i noticed when we were watching tv he kept on looking at me (in a nice way, not pervy )
we started talking, and i offered to make him a cup of tea, and when i gave it to him he touched my hand (lol that sounds really gay but he didn't need to touch my hand)
and he was smiling at me and properly looking into my eyes when we were talking and stuff, and if i said i was cycling instead of walking, he said that he was going to cycle too.
is 18 too old for me? i wouldnt have sex or anything, im not like that...
please dont be harsh, because i'm only wondering.

Well I can't judge to much because at 15 I was dating guys much older then that. And since I was I can give you this advice. At 18 even if you choose not to have sex, that is what they want. Sorry to say. I enjoyed and did not regret any relationship I had with an older man/boy, because even at 23 now my boyfriend is 11 years older then me. I will say though at that age, the men respected that I didn't want to have sex, however I was cheated on by everyone and I'm being very precise, everyone cheated on me. I do not suggest you date someone that old. I will not agree with everyone else and say "oh well he is a pervert because what would an 18 year old see in someone 14". But at 14 I do think you are a little young to be thinking about dating at all, that is the worse I will say. As for the other no one can judge what kind of mentality you have, no one knows what your life has been like and what could have made you more mature then you should be. I wouldn't do it but that is up to you, I believe you should focus on school more and less on boys. You also need to consider how would your friend feel about you and her brother, most are not very accepting. Good Luck!

You know eventually you will be 18 and he will be 22. . . . no one would have a problem with it, you know. . . . If you look under look or like in the dictionary. . . . it doesn't say a thing about numbers or ages. I'm 24 and I have two daughters. . . . all I would do is remind them that 18 year olds are more interested in having sex than a 14 year old. If you genuinely like this guy I don't see anything wrong with it, but hold off on sex until you are TRULY ready. If he really likes you, he won't pressure you into anything. I think he's too old for you and even though you say you wont have sex it will happen just because at the heat of the moment it happens. He's 18 and know alot about sex more than you and that age your hormones are truly out of control and as a young man he's gonna wanna have sex. Remember here in Florida I dont know where you are located but having sex with a minor is a crime and can be charged. Trying looking for someone around your age. good luck! and dont hurry the right time will come

yes 18 is too old when ur only 14, sorry but it is.
Yes the guy likes being around you or smiling at you cause you made a cuppa for him. He is also your friends brother so maybe he is bein nice and abit proctective of you as you are his friends sibling!
It can also cause problems and isnt a good idea. I would stay clear as you might not want sex but this guy may pressure you into it and drink etc...
Hope this isnt to harsh but stay well away in another 2-3 years if he is still around and feel the same by that time maybe, but i doubt it.

I think 18 is too old. I mean he can be nice and all and you both may have feelings for each other. But the bottom line is there is a big age gap 14 and 18. And he is your brothers friend...wierd. And all the things you mentioned sound a little cheesy like you are not ready to be in a relationship. I say find someone your own age...

I don't really agree. It depends on the individuals involved and the circumstances. Like if he's in college, and you're in high school, then it's probably not going to work out. If you're both in high school, that helps to put you both on the same level. It really just depends.
But before you do anything, you need to think about what your parents and your friend and your friend's parents will all say. Getting everyone upset and ruining a friendship over nothing is a bad idea.

Give yourself a chance to meet people closer to your own age, not being judgemental, just be careful. A responsible 18 year old wouldn't even begin to have a relationship with a 14 year old-kind of against the law in most states!!

It depends on where you go with it. At 14 you shouldn't really be seriously dating anybody. With that said, 18 may be ok if you go about it in the proper manner. First, talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. If this is an honorable guy, he won't mind seeing you at home under your parents supervision. After a while, maybe your parents would be comfortable with you going somewhere with him in a group. In that context, 18 might be ok. However, its pretty likely that he might be somewhat embarrased to go out with someone who is 14, and he might only be interested if you're alone. If thats the case NO WAY!!!!! Just be careful, and please, talk to your parents.

Stay away!! You are still a baby!! And yes, he is a perv!! Hate to break it to you!! Watch your *ss!! You are just an innocent little girl!! Don't let him near you!! Tell your brother!! I'll bet he will put that guy in his place!! Forget about wondering, if he is looking at you and he is 18, there is definately something wrong with him!! That makes me upset!! 4 years is a huge difference at your age. I mean would you go out with a 10 year old for example! Mentally you're nowhere near where an 18 year old is.
Just be carefull ok you're lucky enough to be a carefree kid and you've loads of time for boyfriends, and you'll have more fun with ones your own age.
