Teenager problem! Hates School.?
I hate school. I cannot stand my school do I skip it almost every day. Luckily, I am A smart person and I'm in all of the advanced classes and don't have reputation as a rebel. Only the people who really know me know about my strange feelings. My parents don't care - they don't even mention it if I don't go to school. What I end up doing is leeping all day and then staying up all night talking to my girlfriend. I get behind in my work and when I try to go back to school I get a bunch of crap from my teachers and friends. I just get so depressed when I considering dropping out altogether, but I really don't want to do that because I realize it would ruin my life. I don't want to go back at all but I also don't want it to ruin my life. I am so confused and I have really tried to go back and juzt can't take it. What should I do? please help

Oh boohoo.
Let me tell you a secret. You're not special, stop whining, we all hated high school.
High school sucks...that's a given.
Do you think you're the only one in that school that feels that way?
Sometimes in life, we have to do things that we hate. I guarantee when you start a career, you'll hate it many days. Does that mean you can get away with skipping days and not have to deal with the consequences? NO!
Suck it up, grumble and complain, but go to school! You'll regret it so much in the future if you dig this hole now.
If you're smart, like you say, you'd know this.
Do the right thing.

It is funny to see that you call yourself a smart person and then talk about all the school you skip. If you are half as smart as you think you are, you will realize that school is only for a short time and making the best grades possible will open all kinds of doors for you in the near future. Drop out and you will work for someone else all your life. Finish school and finish strong and you will decide what you do with the rest of your life. Sure it seems like a long road ahead just to get to graduation, but it is not as hard or as long as you think. Go back to school, get all the knowledge that you can, work to be the best, make others jealous about how well you do, then when you graduate, you can decide if you want to be a bum and talk to your ex-girlfriend at night. She will have left you for the guy that graduated and has a job, that is why I say ex.

Ask to be put in regular classes. Advanced classes are always A LOAD OF WORK but in all actuality the same as a regular class. I hated goign to school too but went because I knew it would ruin the rest of my life. I applied myself and graduated top 10 of my class and got suma *** lade. May not have had those advanced classes but I did damn good. Try getting one class that you can go to and just sit and do nothing, well do your homeworl and what not in that class. Liek get a study hall for one period or Teachers Assistant and do all homework and catch up work there. That way it gives you time to talk to your girlfriend and do the things you want to when you get home. I am sure if you drop out, your parents will make you get a full time job and that my friend is worse than school. You have life easy right now. Prepare yourself for the real world...girlfriends will come and go. Good Luck!!

I had a lot of the same issues when I was in high school. Is there an alternative school that you could attend. I went to one in my home town, it was only a couple hours a day Monday through Friday. The teachers basically gave you the work and test you, you completed them at your own pace. . . fast or slow. . . and when you were done. . . High school Diploma. I graduated a year early doing this because like you I was very intelligent. Go to the office at your school and ask about the alternative school. More than likely you will have to apply and submit a letter explaining why you would like to attend this school. Just be honest, let them know that you hate high school and that you skip frequently because of this and at times just want to drop out all together. If you really are as talented as you say, any teacher would prefer you go to an alternative school before you drop out. Good luck to you.

All you did here was complain. Explain to us why you hate your school or going to school in general. Once you know that, you can figure out a way to address that. Sometimes you have to bone up and roll with it. Life in the real world isn't going to stop to cater to you when your unhappy about something. Your going to get crappy co-workers, horrible work assignments and other issues throughout your life. You cannot just walk away from them and hope they go away, they will not. The reason your getting crap from your teachers is because your supposed to be in class. They don't care of you hate the subject matter or them or other kids in the class. You have a responsibility to be there, and finish the course. So when you don't show up for a few days then come walking in you get an ear full and rightfully so. You need to be more responsbile, you can start by addressing the exact reason you hate school or your school in particular.

Dude, trust me. Don't drop out. I was like you, was able to get by and not even go to school. School sucks plain and simple. I am in my second year of college. Somethings in life you just got to do. Right now, I am gonna take next semester off school. People are already against me, in todays world you need to graduate college let alone high school. Stick with it man and enjoy. Plus, its almost April school should be done soon? About the depression, go get some help from your counselors or something. What year are you? Because it would be a complete waste of time if you have already completed so much. Good luck mate, don't do something that you will regret. Stay in school.

For someone who thinks they are as brilliant as as you think yourself to be, it is a shame you don't have any common sense.

Evidently your parents think of you as a responsible young man instead of a child 6 or 7 years old who needs to be prodded into getting up and bragged on when he does so he can go to school.

Perhaps you are so brilliant they will throw away your high school transcript. This is a record of your grades and your attendence. Colleges and most employers look at this. I said most employers, but not all. I am sure that Burger King, McDonalds or Wendys will be glad to hire a person of your intelligence without worrying about a high school transcript. In fact if you decide to go ahead and drop out now, there is always an opportunity for "Overachievers" like yourself at the Waffle House.
Quit kidding yourself! You don't know sh*t! You are not qualified to do anything except a job which can be held by a high school drop out.

If you have a weed problem, kick it. Go to NA meetings or whatever you have to do. Your life is ahead of you are you ready to throw it away?

Sounds like normal teenaged angst. Been there, done that.

Go talk to the school counselor, learn some techniques to deal with frustration, and understand that first, your schooling now lays the foundation for what you'll study in college, and second, it's almost over for this year (assuming you're at a traditional school in the US, at least).

If you're smart, you can realize that even smart people can end up in dull, dead-end jobs because they couldn't be bothered getting the academic credentials they need to get a good job. You might be smarter than anyone else in your class, but you'll have a hard time getting a decent job without going to college. Some people do, of course, but it's a tough way to do it. Is it tougher than going to school? That's a choice YOU have to make.

You are not the only one that hates high school. I sure didn't like it, it isn't weird to feel that way, but you need to figure out why you don't like it, and you shouldn't hide from what you don't like. When you get a job, you might hate it, but you can't just not come or you will loose your job. Don't hide from your problems, try to find a safe and good way to fix them. Don't drop out, you're right, it would ruin your life. Stick with it, and don't worry about what teachers and friends say, that should be glad that you are back if you have been gone for a long time. Stick with it and God bless you.
