i usually tend to shop the import sections at Cost Plus World Market and Trader Joes for this price point. Anything but 2 buck chuck. Spain, ARgentina and Chile have some wonderful reds are usually under $10.

Blackstone puts out Merlot and Cabernet in a 3 liter box for about $25. 3liters=4bottles so it's about $6/bottle and the wine is not too bad.

If you live near a licensed Trader Joe's splurge the extra buck and try it's 3 Buck Moe (J.W. Morris brand). The 2 Buck Chucks are surprisingly good but the 3 Buck Moes are incredible for the price.

Do the boxed wine. It is pretty good and will last a long time. It has a tap so you don't have to worry about a cork.
Really it is pretty good wine and tres inexpensive.

Nowadays, the wines from Chile, Argentina and South Afrika are quite good and the price is most agreeable.

WHY A BOTTLE? WHY NOT BUY A BOX OF YOUR RED WINE. NOT ONLY DO YOU GET MORE FOR YOUR BUCK ,BUT IT STAYS FRESH. THERE ARE SEVERAL BRANDS TO CHOOSE FROM. THE COST IS ANYWHERE FROM $8 TO $15.

i love wine in a box!! It's so cheap and actually taste good and stays fresh awhile. You really get your moneys worth. its east all you do is twist the nozzle and it pours right in your glass from the fridge.
