I sympathise with you, and shame on all those insensible answers! I am amazed people can be like that.

As said by others; talk to a doctor to see what can be done. There are many new techincal advances that could help.
Maybe a electric bike if she can ·drive" it. (¿?)
A tandem is also a good idea, a hand pedalling bike could be too.

No limits to a strong will power lady and a loving husband`s support!

I have known amputee riders. Both motorcycle and ordinary cycles can be engineered to compensate for difficulty.

The easiest method that I can think of is using her existing artificail limb. Just buy a set of STPs + shoes. You wife can then clip into the bike peddle. Because you will be powering from the upper leg muscles only, she may have to do a bit of work to compensate, but should be OK.

Look at these sites for STPs:

Depending on how far down her leg was amputated is the factor for bike riding. If it is below the knee she can still have a prosthetic made to pedal normally. If below the hip she would need to have a arm power pedaled trike similar to what paraplegics use. A tandem is also a good choice if she can sit securely on the bike seat. Hope this helps.

A bicycle built for two, be a gentleman you drive.
Now if you are serious and that is possible then you are a good husband ask her what would make her happy to do and then support her. I knew a girl who lost her leg in a motor cycle accident. She loved to dance before and did after with out a prostheses. She had lots of boyfriends too I think she still is dancing somewhere.
If you want to do something badly enough you will just find a new way to do it.

Sorry to hear that. I understand that one can pedalled with hands. You may need tailored made unicycle that is suitable to pedal with hands she has not lost her balancing.

Other wise, there are bicycle or tricycle that can pedalled with hands too.

Cheer up. What a lovely husband.

Surely that's a contradiction? How can she be your wife and be single at the same time?
