Why are men so intimidated by very tall women?

Question

I'm 6'1 and always have men telling me I intimidate or scare them.
I'm athletic and very happy with myself, but these men make me feel really awkward:( ??

Stand tall and be proud! It's the man's need to be the "hero" to protect the "little lady." To these men, size indicates strength. So if they stand next to a tall woman, they are not "strong"........baloney.

im 6'1 too. and i gnrally dat shorter girls, but that is purly by chance, because i am taller than most girls. be happy with what and who you are, some men really do have problems about being short, not just with women but a bitter resentment in generall, i say if you are athltic like you say then there is no reason to be awkward, just be proud of what you got and remember that there are tall guys too.

With tall people a person associates athletic, skill, ability to do things out of reach for others. Usually you find women to look for someone who is shorter in order to feel needed, power, and security for the fact the over shadow her. For a women to be taller it seems like you would over shadow him and maybe make him feel insecure.

im 5'4 and used to be the short one..with all my friends, now im the tall one as my other friends are 5'2.. i think if you are confident then you can look good being tall, i personally don't like being taller than other people.. but alot of boys i know are tall i mean most my french class are over 6 ft and like models which makes me look even worse!
if i was taller i would be a model....lol, enjoy it because taller people look better in clothes, etc also if your the thin type i think its nice..i always look at models in magazines and think what the clothing would look on me and half the time im too short!! soooo its a pain :(

I have that problem. I have always been intimidated by a woman that is taller than myself. I think it has something to do with the man wanted to be the protector in the relationship. When he has a woman bigger than himself then it makes it kinda weird. How short are some of the men you date?

This one is a long story that gets to the nature of men and women. We still have a lot of the cavemen and women in us, although society gives us veneers to cover it up with. Historically, men are bigger and stronger and destined to protect their mates physically. A woman who is bigger than most men sets up a subconscious dissonance in most men. I might add, that many men also still have a real problem with very tall men! It takes education to get us around the negative effects of basic instincts. You need to stay close to educated men. That's where you will find the ones for you!

probably because ususally its the men that are taller and the women are short. and men feel they need to be dominant and taller so when they see a taller womet they feel short and weak personally i like tall women(im 6'5) to it doesnt matter how tall u r all that matters is the kind of person u r in the inside. so.....r u single

They obviously don't appreciate who you are...you being yourself, and If they can't accept the fact you being tall , there are those who don't care how tall or short a person is....and they get along great with one another...I love tall women myself and I love short women...they are all great all the way around ...take care and good luck with this. Don't be hun, not all men care about that. Some are very attracted to taller women. But some are just insecure about their own height.
