If you try to fill the microwave with water rather than putting the water in a container, it could wreck the machine (and start an electrical fire.)
I don't think this is what you mean, so no. Putting a large container of water in the microwave will not wreck it.

Depending on what you mean about "too much water", YES, could cause several problems. For one, you have to be very careful what container the water is in, as it is quite possible to "super heat" the water and create a very dangerous situation. You can search the web for more on this phenomena. Secondly, I agree with the other answer re rust and corrosion. Microwave's were intended more for rapidly thawing and cooking nuke dinners and the like and not as substitutes for the hot watter tap. We have an older micro and I've had to purchase a bottle of Rust-Oleum appliance touch-up paint to coat the rusted places that are starting to get pretty bad.

Every thing wears out with too much use. Did you see the project about watering plants with hot water from the tap and nuked water? The kids did this and than let the water get cold and than watered the plants. The water that had been nuked killed the plants in about 10 days and the tap water worked fine

I assume that by "nuker" you meant "microwave oven". No, there is no problem in heating water.
