As a Christian I enjoy the opportunity to talk about God. I would not see it as an opportunity to teach so much as to share.
Some things do just have to be taken on faith though. If you ask "explain God" or "prove there is a God" that can sink you into a quagmire.
Other questions like "why do you believe" or "what do you think would be a christians view on..." those are easier.
As for Jesus calling people small minded.... Jesus always loved the person regadless of intellect. He pitied those who were closed minded and followed sinful ways and did want to teach them or rebuke their acts.

A true Christian will be happy to answer anything that is asked about GOD. Bare in mind that we do not know everything, but a true christian will say if they do not know, i am not sure but give me time to study and I will get back with you, the lord willing.
But in some cases there are questions that no man will ever know the aswer to, like where did GODcome from, or will the last day be in my lifetime.

I see it as an opportunity to teach! I do get burned a little when people are openly rude or hostile themselves, but I do not think they are small-minded. Christians are called to spread the word, and tell about Jesus. That does not mean I am trying to convert people, or force my beliefs on them. If you are on a public forum talking about this stuff, why be hostile with me! I love the Lord, and I want to tell people.

If you are talking with someone who has God in their heart they will be excited to share what they know about God and how he has changed their life for the better. Some people are miss guided and say bad things to people and my response would be to pray for their understanding. It is too easy to take the wrong path and sometimes people never realize they are lost. Prayer is our direct line to God and Jesus.

I think it depends on how you ask. On here, most people (Christians and otherwise) are argumentative. In the real world, Christians don't want to deal with people who are being difficult or ridiculing then (who does?)
Seems to me a lot of Christians want to tell you all about God, weather you want to listen or not.

If the question is asked respectfully, then most would answer respectfully.
If however, the question is posed with sarcasm or disrespect than it will probably receive the same.
Actually I think Jesus did call people small-minded although not with that exact term. However He never despised anyone due to their small-mindedness.

I try.
But often it is obvious that the question's intent is to provoke anger-then I answer in like manner.
But everyone should be aware that not all Christians have a Th.D., or even a college degree. One can believe and not know much. Its like evolutionist-the majority do not know anything about evolution-they just believe it.

I generally don't ask, because their answers are presumptive:
ie, You must not believe b/c your life is so awful you have "sworn off" jesus. (not the case at all) Just acccept jesus and you will have peace (already there without him).
I find talking with my Muslim and Hindu friends more rewarding. Maybe, as Americans, they are more used to having to be open-minded? ...find a middle ground when discussing religion?

It depends on how the question is phrased, to elicit information or to mock. The type of response is usually dependant on the motivation Those who asked will receive. Those who mock will be mocked in return. Some questions may not be worth the trouble to answer.

I think that every time a non christian is about to hear t the truth something inside them snaps so they can't begin to see the folly of their beliefs.... something is keeping them blind as if almost by force.. so it's the fight or flight response building... if the truth is about to sink in their defenses like mighty walls jump up... there is definitely something out there keeping them blind and in slaved... and it's not god
