Florence is my favorite city in the world there is so much too do, if you are into art and history. One of the best art museums in the world is there, the Uffizi. Florence a great town to really get lost in and just wonder through the heart of the city. If you only have 3 days plan to go to the Uffizi, then while right there spend some time wondering near the Arno River and exploring all the shops and wonderful restaurants. A must is to tour the Duomo and the statue of David. Enjoy the city and the people there. The locals are the best part. Each time I visit I meet more and more wonderful people from the area.

I would highly suggest catching the double decker sightseeing tour. I know, I know it sounds cheesy, but it was great. I took a red one in front of the Termini. It was 20 Euro for two days. On Linea A there are stops throughout the city where you can get on and off the bus, in March it ran every hour. The stops are close enough to most of the major attractions. We saw the Duomo, Ponto Vecchio, Accademia (the original David), and the David duplicate (I believe this was P. San Marco, but don't quote me on that), among a ton of other places. On Linea B you take a trip up into a small town outside of Florence (can't remember the name right now). And make sure you go to Za Za. It's a restaurant that we loved. It was a nice mixture of locals and tourists. And the food was delicous.

Start by staying in the old city.

Then book yourself onto a walking tour of the old city. The guides are very knowledgeable and will point out the 13th century buildings - still being used today and show you a good way around the city. That will take your first afternoon, then you will need to see DAVID, and of course go into a gallery or two. Don't forget the Duomo and the street market that is famous for its leather goods and scarfs and such.

Did you know that the story of Pinocchio is based in Florance and so you will see Pinocchio dolls for sale everywhere. Eat outside in the courtyards or on the pavements.

Cross the Ponte vecchino (spot all the jewelery stores) and walk through the gardens.

Browse down the narrow streets and window shop (too expensive to actually buy) Eat ice cream best anywhere.

Do you get that I loved Florance? - enjoy, its very special.

ok, I thing all the people give you go ideas but they forget somthing very important, in Florence all the best sites are close on Sunday!!!! If you want to see the peoples life and their food go to Trattoria Mario and order "Bifteca alla Florentina" is a 30oz T-Bone Steak the best I ever taste and they make the best in all Florence but they only open for lunch. Some people recomend Trattoria Za-Zá but is to turist and expencive for the quality of food. For places go to the Duomo, Batistero, Museo dell' Opera Del Duomo, Church Of Orsanmichele, Piazza della Signora (replica of "David" in the place where Michalle Angelo but the original, today at Galleria dell' Accademia), Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio,Palazzo Pitti (in here you can spend around 2 1/2 hours, if you pay the full rate ticket 27.50 E = $45.00 per person), Piazzale Michelangelo,Santa Croce Church & Monastery (here around 2 hours, ticket 12.00 E = $21.00 per person),Bargello,Casa Di Dante, Mercato Nuovo, Palazzo Davanzati, Ponte Santa Trinitá(blown up by the Nazis and before war dredged up from the river bed and restore to its original design) Cappelle Medicee, Palazzo Medici- Riccardi.

•Go to “Piazza Michelangelo” either by day or night, you can admire the city from a great view.

•“Basilica di Santa Croce” (Basilica of the Holy Cross) where you can see the tombs of Michelangelo, Dante & Galileo Galilee to name a few.

•“Galleria Uffizi”.

•Take a good picture of yourself in front of “Ponte Vecchio” (Italian for Old Bridge).

•Go to “Piazza de la Signoria” where you can find the “Palazzo Vecchio” (Italian for Old Palace) which is the town hall of the city, infornt there’s a replica of Michelangelo’s David from where the original used to stand… also in this Piazza there’s the “Loggia dei Lanzi” which is an open building with big arches open to the street where you can see very cool statues of of Perseus, (the mythical Greek hero holding his sword in his right hand and holding up triumphantly the Medusa's decapitated head in his left), Menelaus supporting the body of Patroclus, The Rape of the Sabine Women to name a few famous ones…

•I absolutely recommend for you to have a “Florentine night” at the Restaurant “La Certosa” which is located in front of the Certosa Monastery, there you will enjoy a very fun night with live music, and soprano, they have very good wine and champagne and some weird drinks, lol one is yellow and they serve it to people in the mouth as a shoot, it is very very strong… the other two were red and blue, but where more like a type of champagne I think… The same owners are the people from the Restaurant “Osteria dei Baroncelli” which is located very close to “Piazza de la Signoria” in a small street called Via Chiasso dei Baroncelli that is between the “Loggia dei Lanzi” and another building (forgot what it is sorry) there you can ask for more info on that Florentine night, they are very kind people…

Book your tickets to the Uffuzi and Accademia ahead of time so you don't have to wait in those lines.

The Uffuzi is on the Piazza della Signoria, where you can see the reproduction of David. The real one is in the Accademia.

There is a church called Santa Croce in Florence that holds the tombs of many famous Florentines, including Michelangelo and Galileo. See my link below.

you would be chilly. do no longer lease a vehicle, merely take the prepare from city to city. maximum cities are walkable, yet DO deliver mushy footwear. by using day 7 of my final holiday, strolling in lovable footwear, I felt like i grew to become into strolling on broken ft. LOL In Venice, I stayed on the hotel Nazionale. It grew to become into an exceedingly advantageous 3-famous person hotel, extremely priced, and served breakfast interior the morning. that's on the canals, so which you are going to be able to get a room with a view. do no longer spend too lots time in Rome, its a tad uninteresting. Write to me and that i will inform you the place I stayed, i merely will no longer be able to undergo in recommendations top now :) . See the *different* areas of Italy. you will fall in love with it, that's a ultimate u . s . a ..

Spent a few days there 12 years ago. Awesome place. Try and stay as central as you can as most things are in short walking distance. It is the most stylish place i have ever been too. V. expensive !.
