He said "All others who come before me were thieves and robbers"....
He was talking about false Messiahs not Moses and Abraham.
In John 8:58 he says"Abraham rejoiced to see my day".They said to him "Your not even 50 years old and you say you have seen Abraham?"(Abraham lived 2000 years before Christ)
Jesus said "Truly I say to you.Before Abraham was ,I AM."
He claimed to be the Lord that Abraham talked to under the Terebinth trees.The one he negotiated with about his nephew Lot ,in Sodom.
The Jews knew this and wanted to stone him but he just disappeared right through their midst.
John 10 is the parable of the Good Shepherd,by the way.
Remember Moses and Elijah appeared to Him on the Mt. of Transfiguration.He had nothing bad to say about Moses.

That one is has been advanced as an interpretation of John 10:8 "All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them".
However the scripture (in context) is referring to people who have claimed to be the Messiah. Neither Abraham nor Moses made such a claim. So the scripture is not a reference to them.
