no, not in the end

It all depends on what you consider finishing last. Certainly if you goals in life are to accumulate money and status then you will have an easier time if you are at least somewhat "bad", but to me that comes at too high a price. I will not give up what I believe in for something that other perceive as finishing ahead of me. I only need what I need for life I have no need to become as "rich" or richer then my neighbor.

And as for the messed up morals and values, just because someones morals and values doesn't line up with the current society, that doesn't mean that they are the ones that are messed up.

Yes it is true that good people finish last, but good people are not really worried about what the majority think. They have real morals and values. The world as we know it is very messed up. But in the end all that matters is how you feel when you look back on your life.

No, not necessarily. You should check out the book called, "Why Bad Things Happen To Good People" (I've forgotten the author, sorry) it's a very good and informative book. No, I do not think good, moral people finish last in this society. I think they are the ones who put things right or try to make the world a better place for everyone.

If you are truely a good person with morals and values, who cares if you finish last? Your reward is given in the after life. Those with a lack of morals and values will find out the price of their ways soon enough.

Yes, sadly enough, I believe that is what happens a lot of the time. Truth, justice, and the American way is a myth... If you have a big bank roll, justice is what you can afford. ( OJ )_Unfortunately, for most Americans, there is just not much left over for "justice"...We are much too busy trying to afford groceries and necessary medical care and medicine... Why does the most prosperous coutry in the world neglect the very people who pay the vast majority of it's expenses ??? When will the people who try to do what they feel is right and fair get a fair shake ???Am I a nut for believeing that being an honest, fair forthright person, trying to do he "right thing ", is the way to try to run your life ???

It depends on what you mean by 'finishing last' and what you mean by morals and values since those are different for everyone. But in general, No I don't believe that. All the people I know who stick to their values of honesty, integrity and love are winners in life. And, none of them are poor, nor are they poor in spirit. They stuck to what is true to themselves and didn't follow the path of everyone else or necessarily that of money that our society emphasizes so much. This is the most important thing. Remain true to yourself and steadfast in that and you find true happiness. Isn't true happiness the true test of finishing first afterall?

Those who held themselves to high moral standards had both success and failure. The questions lies, did those successes and failures have lasting effects. The answer is yes, for one to judge what is those lasting effects in society ? To me, this is a open-ended answer because what is the standard you are using for this question? By my standards, there are no good people but those trying to "be good" The only answer I can say is no, when heaven arrives on earth, those who "believe" will first first.

This depends on whose race you are running. If you are a good person and you constantly do what is right, you may very well end up financially troubled and proffesionally unsuccesfull, but how much would that matter to a man who places no value in money?

Remember that life is one big roller coaster. Do whats right now and while you may not be able to see it, those who do wrong will eventually pay for it - in one way or another.

This is the principal that life runs on.

You need to be good only when you know good will come back to you!! Other then that don't waste your time on those who you know deep inside wont be there for you!!

Yes. Seems the only ones who end up finishing first are the ones who are self-centered and look out for themselves only. The ones who try to help others get the short end of the stick but the ones who couldn't care less about anyone else come out on top. Such a shame what our society has become. A bunch of self-serving, self-involved, whiners who demand their rights, regardless of how it affects anyone else.
