Oven Fried Chicken
Make three "dipping stations"
Season the chicken with all purpose seasoning.
Cover in first bowl which you have filled with flour & a little extra seasonings
Dip in second bowl which contains two eggs beaten.
Cover in third bowl which has bread crumbs in it!... Italian or whatever style you like.
Simply place it on a cookie sheet in the oven at 350degrees truning after 15 minutes for a total cooking time of 24-30 minutes.
This is easy and delicious! Make it into chicken parm by topping with hot marinara sauce, sprinkling cheese on top and serving with pasta. Make it Southern & serve it with potatos and corn. Mauke it super healthy and have it with veggies and brown rice!
Good Luck & Enjoy! ;-)

The other 2 answers are good ideas. But something simple and if you do not have a grill: Buy a couple of nice steaks - Top Sirloin is good for a lower cost option, NY Strip is very good for a moderate price, also T-Bone or Porterhouse are nice if you want to spend the money.
For any of those steaks, just sprikle with a little salt & pepper and put them on a broiler pan and broil them in your oven on High about 2-3 inches from the top of oven. Make sure you keep the oven door open a crack when broiling!! (DO NOT KEEP OVEN DOOR CLOSED WHILE BROILING!)
As a side dish, my husbands favorite with steak is Ziti. Just follow the boiling instructions on the box. To make it easy, buy a good jar of sauce. Look for one that only has basic ingredients in it (tomatoes, olive oil, spices), not a lot of extra junk in it!
Or, if you want to do more work, bake a couple of potatoes, and make a vegetable, instead of the Ziti.
But the steak & ziti combo is the easiest and fastest way to make a really good dinner. It's my whole family's favorite dinner!
A simple salad is good for a vegetable. Just buy a bagged one to make it easy. ( I still wash them, even if they say they are already washed!)
The steaks should only broil about 10 minutes per side for medium rare on a 2 inch thick steak.
And, don't forget the wine! We like a dry Pinot Grigio, but I think with that dinner you could get whatever kind you guys like. I'm no wine expert, so I could be wrong about that! Maybe there's one that goes better with steak or pasta?!

Anything that you take the time to cook him that isn't burnt will be wonderful! He will be knock out by the fact that A. You actually know how to cook & B. You cooked for him. Men are really mushy about this. I would suggest going to www.foodnetwork.com and looking up 30 minute meals by Rachel Ray. All of her recipies are wonderful and make it look like you slaved over the stove all day. I would have gven you more of a specific recipie but you didn't give me any info about like, dislikes, food allergies? You may want to ask hima about the food alleriges! Good luck and happy cooking!

Spaghetti with tomato sauce, garlic bread, with a green salad with a viniagrette. If you feel its too light you could also grill chicken breast, seasoned with garlic, oregano, thyme and olive oil. Marinate the chicken breast and grill 10 - 20 minutes over a high heat to brown the meat. You can also bread it and brown in the pan and serve as chicken parmesana(melt mozarella over the meat in the oven 5 minutes), with the spaghetti on the side with the sauce.
Look for a nice dessert. My favorite is a pound cake from the supermarket, mix yoghurt(not the diet stuff) with mascarpone and sugar(to taste). Slice strawberries, add powdered sugar and a little vanilla extract and allow to flavors to mix. Stir from time to time(prepare ahead of time, allow 2 hours). Place pound cake on the plate. Add strawberries, and then cream mix. Place strawberries to dress. Bon appetit!

Lasagne is usually a no-fail recipe, with a big salad and fresh garlic bread. Never met a man who didn't like it, and I live with 3 guys!
