If she is a full time student living at home and 17 yr old on 12/31/2006, by law she cannot claim herself as a dependent no matter how much money she made in 2006. You would be the person that would claim her. If you filed her tax return with her as a dependent, then she can file a 1040X to change that. At the bottom of page 2 of 1040X there is a place to explain why you are filing the form. Re-do her 1040EZ and send that along also. This needs to be filed by the 17th as she may be paying extra tax.

Yes, you can! My son is 17 and he worked part-time too and is still in school and filed a 1040EZ! Just make sure when your daughter filed her return that she marked the box that said she could be claimed as a dependent and did not file single. Then you should be all set! :)

If she lived with you over half the year, and didn't provide more than half of her own support, then yes you can, so the answer is probably yes.

When she filed her 1040EZ, she should have checked the box on line 5 that says she can be claimed as a dependent. If she didn't, she'll have to amend her return to make that change. If her income was under $5150, she won't pay taxes - if over that, she'll owe something with her amended form.

I still claim my daughter who is 31 years old. She is handicapped and receives social security, but still lives at home. This may be also helpfull to parents who still take care for there handicapped children.

once you document your taxes..which should be married, joint, you'll then both be claiming your daughter. you receives one tax go back in both one among your names if you're filing married yet separate, in elementary words one among you are able to declare her on your taxes.

Yes, if you supported her for at least 6 months.

If you provided for more than half of her care, yes, indeed you can!

Yes, unless she paid more than half of her own support.
