I agree, and usually when my kids are watching TV, it's so I can get a shower or do some laundry. I try not to let the TV be the babysitter for too long. But what's worse, is when my friend told me that her family went to go see a kids movie at the movie theater, and the theater was jam packed full of kids that day, and the movie preview they showed was for that recent remake of the Exorcist. Could you imagine, sitting there with your young children waiting to see some innocent kids movie, and the movie preview is for something so scary that even adults wouldn't want to see it? I would change the channel on the TV at home when that dumb movie preview came on...anyway, they were livid as could be expected and so many people marched straight t to the manager to ask what the heck they were thinking for showing that preview!!!

people pay to have their commericals put on television. the networks aren't going to say " i know you paid all this money to have your commercial on here but too bad" there are certain times when commercials will be seen more than others. it's marketing. and if a commercial is really going to effect your child that badly than you shouldn't let them watch tv. a commerical is generally a minute or less so I don't think it's really that big of a problem. when i was younger i watched scary movies and they didnt scare me at all or effect me in any negative way.

In the greedy world of business it no longer matters to them if they are having a corruptive influence anymore, as long as their particular product takes prime time advertising space.
Profits before people is the name of the game today.

They probably figure at 6am kids would be sleeping. Ya think they would not have those sort of commercials on Nick!

Because they want to market to the parents who are hopefully watching with their kids. Unless you think it's OK to just park your kids in front of the square babysitter, of course.

They know they are being watched over by parents....also, remember that word 'PROGRAMMING'.
It's not a commercial, it's programming in America!

i live in Islamic country and you would never ever see anything like that here on tv. Child protection is very important, they don't need to see that garbage. we love our children way too much to expose them to that, perhaps hollywood and the movie execs should learn some morals and decency.
