I'm only 17 and going to college for Fashion Design and Culinary Arts(Pastry Chef) I also want to become a model. I've never made a Dinner for my family before but about 2 weeks ago, I went to the store and got fresh fish and other items for the meal. I made Lemon Pepper Fish w/ Whole Grain Rice, Steamed Vegetables~Broccoli, Carrots and Sugar Snap Peas. And for Desserts, I made Red Velvet Cake and a Light Glaze w/ Store bought Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I made a little bit to much though that night. I could tell that my family really liked it because, they went back for seconds and normally they don't do that. My family's trying to eat more healthier. We still have left overs. It was an awesome dinner I'll never forget.

That would probably have to be a veal piccata in lemon caper sauce. It was for our anniversary 2 weeks ago, and I'd never cooked veal before, and was trying to replicate one of our favorite dishes from a local restaurant. It was amazing! We couldn't stop talking about it. And I was so worried I was going to screw it up!

Other than that, I'm a recent convert to bacon gravy. My hubby saved the bacon drippings and asked if I could make gravy with it for the mashed potatoes. I said I'd give it a shot. Wow! It was out of this world! I'll never have beef gravy again.

My sister-in-law never complements my cooking, even though everyone else does. For Easter dinner I made Ocean Perch with a black pepper lemon marinade. Cheese Tortes (phylo pastry, goat cheese, fontana cheese, bruschetta mix and feta cooked in the oven for 40 min till gooey) a Zucchini loaf, baked potato salad w/ no eggs, grilled asparagus, grilled portabello mushrooms and scallops braised in a white wine sauce. Everything tasted great. And my sister-in-law ate everything and told me that I should start catering cause she would totally pay me for a meal like this.

Thank god for the food network ;)

My flatmates say that about everything I cook! They're not stupid men at all. They know who bakes the bread around here. ;-p

My personal favorites the past week or so have been a chili-rubbed pork tenderloin roast with apple succotash (a Rachel Ray recipe I slightly modified) and also chicken breasts in a spicy cream sauce with roasted asparagus and rice. Both are now in my personal file.
