"In the day you eat of it, you die." Adam chose between life and death.
"Accept Christ and live." We choose between life and death.

Why not just keep the original tree of knowledge of good and evil and pass it on to the next guy?

That is a neat idea. Would our world still be filled with evil, due to those who chose to sin? Or would the presence of people who were thousands of years old (due to not choosing sin) present an adequate deterrent to most of humanity? If you saw firsthand ancient (yet still healthy) people who lived Godly lives, you would probably want what they had. But would there really be enough of them in this world? Would they be susceptible to murder? Let's say that someone who chose to sin became jealous of the person or people who chose to stay pure; if they tried to murder the sinless person, would the sinless person die? Or would he or she be protected somehow?
Interesting question. I've had similar questions myself before, but not quite as you posed it.

Well for one in that story when they ate of that tree IN THE DAY they did NOT die! SO GOD IS A LIAR! Their eyes were opened! Exactly what the serpent said!

Accept Christ? WHY? The prophecy mentioned in Malachi 4:5 I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
John the Baptist was NOT Elijah
John 1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias [Elijah]? And he saith, I am not.

As for a need for the tree of knowledge of good and evil we have no need for it. We already have knowledge of what good and evil are. Why eat of something to which you already have what it offers? MAKES NO SENSE!

Animals do not have knowledge of good and evil. They live on instinct not conscious desire and choice. They only respond to stimulas!

The tree that Adam and Eve ate from is still in the Garden of Eden. An angel is guarding the gate with a sword of fire. It's out of our realm because we are sinners.

We do have it, it is called a bible and we can choose a christian way of life or reject it. It was no so clear cut for Adam and Eve. Everything was his so how could he steal?
There was only one women so no adultery. Why lie she knew what he was doing. How could he face the issues of murder or war since he was the only man alive.
That didn't show up until there was 3 men.
Isn't that sad, they had the whole earth and he couldn't just move away? He left anyway.
that always amazes me why men or women murder their spouse. When divorce is so popular and if you really hate them move to another country. Or change your name and move 3 states away. I would go to Australia or Canada.
Before I would feel compelled to kill them.

Because knowledge of good and evil were passed down through Adam's desentents, the curse of death is already on us, but the gift of life can ONLY be found through the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.

They ate (assimilated or consumed knowledge) from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Satan).

That's why God said;

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

We all must eat (assimilate or consume knowledge) of the tree of life (Jesus Christ), to live for ever.

Jesus Christ is the tree of life and we are His branches. All knowledge comes from God through Jesus Christ. That is if you believe.

Adam & Eve were forced out of the Garden, where the tree of knowledge of good and evil and tree of life exists.

God did this out of mercy to us. Their sin seperated them - and us - from God. Should they have eaten from the tree of life, mankind would have forever been seperated from God -- a kind of eternal hell on earth.

Our bodily death anf faith in Christ gives us a hope to once again have fellowship with God - face to face.

I once ate of the Tree of Knowledge of TV and VCR Repair.

Way better than having to show up for class or read those mail order books.

It was bulldozed down to make way for "Eden Estates", it's like living in God's Hand (starting at the low $1,000,000s)
