Well look, it's called "depression" because certain chemical levels in your brain are "depressed", alcohol happens to have the same effect of "depressing" some of those same and other chemical levels but as often as people who suffer from chemical depression turn to alcoholism they are two distinct conditions. I'd say to quit the binge drinking first (AA is free on top of basically being group therapy as far as I know) and then see if you still feel bad.
If on the other hand you're just worried that your binge drinking will lead you to depression, rest assured that hooch messes up your life dozens of other ways too.

Yes,
As alcohol is a nervous system depressant, it definitely can cause situational or long term depression to happen and be worse.
Alcohol through it's actions reduces inhibition with a couple of jolts, after that you've reached the end of it's usefulness as a mood changer, people who drink one drink are generally not affected, however when driven to excess alcohol does a couple of things, even with binge drinkers, (those who do get drunk periodically, but not habitually).
Increased levels of alcohol reduces the ability of the brain to A. Produce neurotransmitters that effect mood, and B. Reduce the effectiveness of those neurotransmitters.

Do you binge drink because you are depressed? Getting drunk doesn't help any problem, it only makes things worse. You need to seek substance abuse counseling immediately, and rid yourself of the poison. You'll put yourself in an early grave, or worse yet, hurt or kill someone else, or have to live with the handicap of all the disabilities alcoholism causes. At least you're asking, you know what you're doing is wrong, please go get some help.
