My husband has been so upset with me lately. I have been taking at least 4 Tylenol PM's a night and regular during the day. I suffer from SLE Lupus and I am in chronic pain and have a heck of a time sleeping. I have been doing this for about 6 years and he thinks I am killing my liver and kidneys. Should I be worried? It is just Tylenol.

TO MUCH TYLENOL CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR LIVER. DOES YOUR DOCTOR DO REG.. BLOOD WORK ON YOU??THERE ARE SAFER SLEEP AIDS.TO MUCH MOTRIN CAN CAUSE KIDNEY PROBLEMS. I WOULD NOT WORRY JUST GO AND HAVE A CHECK UP.

MAYBE THEY CAN FIND PAIN MEDICATION OR SOME TYPE OF PAIN MANAGEMENT THAT WON,T MAKE YOU FEEL FUNNY.
I WOULD GO AND SEE YOUR DOCTOR AND SEE WHAT OTHER HELP THEY CAN OFFER YOU.
GOD LUCK.

Yes, you should be.

Tylenol is large quantities is toxic and can cause liver damage (irreversable at times)

I would recommend seeing your dr. about a pain management regimen that doesn't include high doses of tylenol. You may want to use Advil, Alieve, Aspirin at least some of the time instead of Tylenol.

Tylenol does build up in the liver and can cause a problem in the future. This does not happen to every person. Why don't you ask your doctor for a different sleep aid to eliminate some of your Tylenol usage. Go over this question with your medical doctor. He's the most qualified to answer you because he knows your medical history.

You can take a toxic amount of tylenol. I'm not sure but I think its 3500 mg. a day. Ask a pharmacist to be sure. You'd be better off taking your regular pain meds. but be sure they don't have tylenol in them. I take roxycondone. Its generic percocet only no tylenol of any kind.
