When I think about potatos, I usually think garlic roasted. When I think of macaroni, cheddar cheese comes to mind. And when I think of eggs, they're usually next to some bacon and pancakes.

I tried to get eat some potato salad recently, when I went to eat at a local bbq shack. The meal came with baked beans as well. I almost barfed. It tasted like mustard and pancake syrup. In fact, I don't understand bbq baked beans as well...they were as sweet as the salad.

I usually think of chili con carne when I eat beans. The only thing that should be sweet at all should be the BBQ sauce, and only so much.

Am I crazy? If you feel the same way, let me know. I also hate raisins in meatloaf. But at least I'm not at weird as one of my close friends...she says she thinks chocolate and vanilla are gross! Go figure!

Yeah, I think its the mustard and vinegar that I don't like. I'm the only one in my family that dislikes these types of mustardy, relishy, sweet salads. I think its the idea of someone squirting mustard in my mac n' cheese (or anything creamy). I have nothing against the mayo part of the salads.

There is one macaroni salad I do like though. If you're from Hawaii, you know what i'm talking about. It's the kind you get at Hawaiian BBQ places. The meat is mainly teriyaki korean-cut ribs or chicken. Anyways, their mac salad tastes like a very light white cheddar cheese sauce (probably a beurre blanc with salt and pepper, nothing else)

Each person has the same sense of taste in different degrees that's why some people like what others don't. Alot of people have been raised from youth with what was put in front of them and told to eat or no dessert, this is what causes a mental block as we grow older to some types of foods. In the culinary world when concocting recipes we think about those aspects of taste and try to appeal to the majority but a few will thumbs down our offerings. You are not alone but I would suggest you try something new and different once a week and you may find that you have a keaner sense of taste then most and the others will be the ones asking "How can you eat that stuff", good luck, eat happy

Raisins in meatloaf?! I've never heard of that one! I'd refuse to eat it too. A good meatloaf is hard to come by, whatever happened to good ol' fashioned meatloaf? I know of a few people who refuse to eat potato, egg,and macaroni salads saying they are "gross mixtures'. Egg salad does smell foul but doesn't taste all that bad, personally, I like my potato and macaroni salad. I went to a restaurant a few weeks ago and tried their potato salad from the salad bar and it was very vinegary tasting, not good at all. (Use to be) Baked beans shouldn't be that sweet.
You're not crazy at all, just different people have their preferences. Most of the people in my family will not eat "those" salads. I do, as long as I make them.

Maybe you just don't like Mayo! Story reads like the salad they served was beyond expiration date, gone soured or someone messed it up on purpose or was stoned when preparing it.

Don't go back to that place! Report the salad to the local health dept.
