When I think about potatos, I usually think garlic roasted. When I think of macaroni, cheddar cheese comes to mind. And when I think of eggs, they're usually next to some bacon and pancakes.
I tried to get eat some potato salad recently, when I went to eat at a local bbq shack. The meal came with baked beans as well. I almost barfed. It tasted like mustard and pancake syrup. In fact, I don't understand bbq baked beans as well...they were as sweet as the salad.
I usually think of chili con carne when I eat beans. The only thing that should be sweet at all should be the BBQ sauce, and only so much.
Am I crazy? If you feel the same way, let me know. I also hate raisins in meatloaf. But at least I'm not at weird as one of my close friends...she says she thinks chocolate and vanilla are gross! Go figure!

Yeah, I think its the mustard and vinegar that I don't like. I'm the only one in my family that dislikes these types of mustardy, relishy, sweet salads. I think its the idea of someone squirting mustard in my mac n' cheese (or anything creamy). I have nothing against the mayo part of the salads.
There is one macaroni salad I do like though. If you're from Hawaii, you know what i'm talking about. It's the kind you get at Hawaiian BBQ places. The meat is mainly teriyaki korean-cut ribs or chicken. Anyways, their mac salad tastes like a very light white cheddar cheese sauce (probably a beurre blanc with salt and pepper, nothing else)
