We just formed an NGO tagged RELEIF HOME . The primary aim of the releif home is to cater, shelter, feed, clothe and educate these highly displaced persons as a result of the ten year war we had in Sierra Leone. We have exhausted all the finances we have on our own like our personal money. We are intrested in seeking for funds and material from International foundations who share our aspirations and vision for a better society for these homeless children.

Maybe I can share how the Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in my country (in Asia) secure funding assistance for humaniarian projects. Just to give some hints:
1) Have your NGO accredited (officially recognized) by your government development agency (if you have one). Usually they look for the NGO's legal organizational structure (By Laws) and documentations of your NGO's operations, programs, projects, etc.
2) Once you have official accreditation by your government, you can request for your government's referral or endorsement to funding institutions, local or foreign.

3) you may be required to submit a formal proposal and other supporting documents in order for your request for funding assistance to be considered.

There are processes involved. But the most important thing is that you should coordinate with the appropriate agency of your government so that they can facilitate your access to funding sources.

You need to get a Grant Writer who submits grants to organizations and solicits money.
