They stroke up to things with their face because thats where there glands are, when they close there eyes for no reason apperntly its like us smiling, if they are unhappy they turn they purposly face away from you, they use their whiskers to mesaure widths of gaps they wants to get through because their whiskers are the same width of there body so if they get fatter their whiskers get longer, erm...There loadsa stuff like that I love em too xx

Cats are great company and can be as obedient as a dog depending on the breed. They are easier to maintain than a dog. You can leave them alone for the weekend if you leave out a bowl of food and a bowl of water. They also require a litter box for going to the bathroom. You need to clean out the refuse daily and if using a non clumping litter a total cleaning and sanitization once a week. Cats require a trip to the vet once a year for vaccinations just like dogs do. They can live up to 18 years if kept as an indoor pet. My cat is currently 13. She is an indoor cat and she is spayed (fixed) and still has her nails. Some people declaw their cats front nails so they won't scratch at the furniture. WE have a couple of scratching posts and our cat was trained to use them not the furniture.
Hope that helps

Cats are very independant pets that can be loveable when THEY choose to be.
They shed just like dogs and are more allergic for humans because of thier dander.
They are easier to care for as they only require their litter box to be cleaned rather than walking and can live very happily in doors for their whole life.
A common mistake is that you can just put down a large bowl of food and water and just refill when empty.
Most overweight health issues in cats are due to overfeeding in just this way.
Cats still need to be fed a daily amount and no more.
So if you go on vacation you will still need to have someone feed your cat or use one of the automatic feeders to prevent obesity which leads to other health problems. Cats have been more affected by the national pet food recall due to the fact that they can be prone to kidney problems if they are not getting the right nutrition.
If you have or are concidering getting a cat - get them the proper nutrition and treats from this site.
http://www.nancyshealthnet.com
you will be able to read all about nutrition in cats and why feeding them right is so important.
Enjoy your cat if you have one or are planning to get one- they are great pets if you appreciate their independance.
